Recieved my diablosport predator today from diablosport, it is one of the preproduction releases
unit is very easy to use, no unhooking of battery necessary
it has a couple tunes, 93 octane, 87 octane, tune with no power enhancement, and c+l intake tune
so far so good, ill post more when i have a little more time to play with it
i highly reccomend it, just for the way it makes the car feel, i was actually able to chirp the tires on the 2-3 shift, the "fluttering" of the throttle during a burnout is gone, and i idled it down a bit, sounds much better than stock

Nice to see they're coming along with it. I've been holding out for this and seems like it was always "check back next week". Hopefully they're working on the Automatic tranny tunes too.

one tuner does both...
you have to select manual or auto tranny in the tuner itself
2 weeks TOPS these will be released to the public
im leaning toward closer to 7 business days

Yup, I've been waiting for em too! Although I've got a bunch of expenses to deal with right now, by the the time I'm ready to buy they should be in ready supply, and with some automatic trans tunes as well

Exactly what would a tune with no power enhancements get you?

speedo correction, torque management gone, auto trans shift improvement etc, everything but messing with the timing and fuel tables

I have a question. after tuning your stang, can you tuner others also? And lets say you also have a F150, can you tune that too?

no this is vehicle specific and vin locked
you will only be able to tune your mustang, until you put the stock tune back on your mustang then you can tune another 05 mustang
im pretty sure the code grabber will work on other vehicles but dont hold me to it

What happened to the throttle response? The SCT unit supposedly makes it miraculous!
Test something for us... tap the gas, does the rpm jump? Get the RPM's up to about 3000 RPM, let go of the gas, time how long it takes to return to idle.
Also - anyone with the SCT - please do the same for comparison!!
Thanks!

throttle response is AWESOME
i set the idle to 500 rpm, blub blub blub idle sounds wicked for a stock vehicle
it makes the car a totally different car
its just like you have a cable going to the throttle body again!!!
and i can rip 3rd gear now, before it fell on its face right before the shift
really cant say on cost, i believe the units will retail for $459 and probably sell in the $375-399 range, which is a bargain compaired to the SCT because you can adjust things, and datalog, and have an obdII scanner at the same time

so does the RPM drop back down almost immediately or still take about 2-3 seconds?

just went outside, took it for a drive to check it out (excuse to go drive!)
yes the rpm do drop back down quicker, before it would almost jump 500 or so rpm when you let off the clutch and gas, now its alot more smooth like its suppose to be
rpm doesnt go up then down, just goes down

cool - thanks for the SUPER fast responses. One last question -- is the RPM throttle response fixed with the standard HP tune - I want to keep my cheap gas 87 octane usage so the perf tunes are not likely to be used on mine.
thanks again!
thanks again!

you have 2 choices there
87 octane tune
or tune with no performance enhancement, just driveablity enhancement
IE it will change rpm limits, throttle response etc etc, but not mess with timing and fuel tables

Choices, choices!! So then the Diablo unit will allow you to tune individual parameters (at least some of them) and the SCTXcalibrator will not - you just choose a particular tune and that's it?
Now that we have seen both - which one is the one to get - I'm ready now to order a CAI unit and want to know which is the better tuner - Diablo or SCT? Could I use the Diablo with the Steeda CAI?
thx - b

diablo you can adjust fuel and timing tables, rpm limits, speed limits etc etc
i suspect the tune that is labeled for "c+L intake" would work with most intakes as well.
i prefer the c+l setup, the steeda looks just like that mmr exhaust pipe

Does it adjust for a 4.30 gear? And do you set the A/F and other stuff yourself or go to someone to get the tune set on a dyno? My gears are on the way but have not bought a sct or yours yet. Thanks.
