Just got my Diablo Sport tuner today. So far seems like it is worth the money.
Curious about what tunes everyone else is running.
Performance Tune?
87 Octane Tune?
91 Octane Tune?
-main question is which is better the Performance tune, or the 91 Octane tune?
-also what kind of timing increases have you added to your tune?

Do they have a 93 octane tune on it?

See if there is anything on there...

there isn't a 93 octane tune, but there is a performance tune-which might be better than the 91 octane tune, That's what I'm not certain of. Thanks for the link.

"DiabloSport Performance tunes require the use of Super Unleaded / Premium grade or 91 octane fuel only, like carried by Amoco/BP, Sunoco or Mobil."

"The GT Predator comes with the following 3 tunes:

Performance Tune for 93 octane
Performance Tune for 91 octane
Performance Tune for 87 octane"

Those were quotes from this section of one of those links...

Just got off the phone with the tech guys at Diablo. They said the performance tune is the 93 tune. I just installed it on mine. I would like to test it this weekend. I have not made any timing changes on that tune yet.

Great, thanks for the quick response Scott.
I'm about to go back out and re-tune mine. I've added 7degrees of timing for 2-4 and another 3 from 4-7.
-Haven't messed w/ the WOT/fuel mixtures yet. I'm sure I need to since I have off-road exhaust, would assume it leaned it out some, but I don't know enough about the mixture to be messing w/ it right now.
************
-another quick question, do you think my service engine light is going to come back on since I have the off-road exhaust? I heard that one of the tuners allows you to turn off the rear O2 sensors to avoid the light coming on...any ideas?
Thanks

I saw some 02 stuff on there somewhere but I am not sure. I thought that tune would of added timing already. You are brave IMO to add that much timing on top of a tune unless you have checked this somehow. I would have to data log and read some fuel numbers etc before I made that move. Good Luck. I will call ya this weekend.

Yeah, I think you're right about the timing, I just noticed that it doesn't adjust in degrees, but by percentage, so I better stop messing around w/ it...but it feels like its pulling like crazy from 4000+ rpms now, compared to the stock setting. Talk to you this weekend.

So am I to understand that you can adjust individual parameters (timing, etc.) with the predator without having to go to a tuner???? That's very cool if I'm understanding it correctly - cause I don't believe I can adjust anything with the SCT Xcalibrtor - but will have to take it into an SCT shop and have them do it............

Jay - is the JLT/Diablo combo ready yet?

FOR SALE: SCT Xcalibrator with DPG 91/87 Octane tune......

Yes, you are correct. I'm going to the drag strip friday, and am going to start off w/ the factory diablo performance tune, and then go from there after every pass, I'm going to pump the timing up some to see what happens....I figure "worse" case senario, I'll just get valve rattle....and if not that lucky, that's a reason for maxing out the credit card again...LOL

I talked to Jay about the JLT/Diablo combo and he said he should have the tune by the end of next week (hopefully). The only thing I'm confused on is...
on the Diablo site they have custom downloads for the C&L and the Steeda CAI. Is this a free download?

Jay

Yeah- the reason I'm asking is because some dealers of the CAI's will charge around $120 to get the tune for the CAI. If Diablo offers the tune for free for those two CAIs then that might detour my decision...hmmmm

Diablo offers 2 tunes for the unit. C&L CAI and Steeda CAI both are listed on their website and can be added to the unit via your PC.
