Diablo Predator tunes
Diablo Predator tunes
I just bought a new open-box Diablo Predator U7140 for my 05 GT on eBay. Picked it up for $175. It has the original Diablo tunes on it. I was wondering if anyone could recommend another source for tunes. Obviously I'd like one for free, but will pay for a good custom tune. I'm running it pretty much stock right now, just a Vertex Racing CAI. And I'm running 87 octane, but I can change that. Any suggestions, recommendations? Thanks for your help.
Check out Doug @ Bamachips.com. Not alot of mail order tuners use Predator software. Lucky for us Doug decided to. Do a search for on here if you would like to know how good his tunes are. I love mine.

As far as I know, Doug at Bamachips is the only one that does mail order tunes for the diablo. You will have to pay $50 per tune because you didn't buy the tuner from Doug. I think he has a special if you order 3 tunes. I also have a diablo predator that I bought used. I only have Bamachip's 89 tq tune. Overall it's a good tune.
I just dynoed my car today. With Doug's 89 tq tune I lost about 2 hp, but gained 10 LBS of tq. I don't think weather was too much of a factor. It was only about 5 degrees warmer today compared when I last dyoned my car at the same place.

If your running the 87 octane gasoline, then leave the tune alone. If your running higher octane gasoline, then you will be able to get that thing over the 300RWHP mark with just a few adjustments. Might be able to get to 320RWHP..
At any rate, thats a nice choice. You have been paying attention it would appear!
If your dead serious about this HP thing, buy a WideBand next and ASAP. This will allow you 100% control of your destiny. It will also save you money in the long run.
Thats only if your serious. The 4.6L motor is a very nice motor. Its actually a great motor in the right hands. However the most important thing for that motor, is to be 100% aware of the A/F ratio. Whether boosted or N/A.
So if your serious, then buy a Wideband today, and get some datalog info. This way when you ask questions, you have solid data in which to speak from. This allows the tweakers out there to understand where your at.
