Delete Plates Question
Is there a way to modify the stock plates to get the same, or similar, results as the delete plates?
I'm sure this has been covered before, so if someone can link me to the thread that's cool too.
Otherwise, any advice regarding this or the most cost-effective ones to get? Any reason not to go this route? Any info is helpful. Thanks!

Yes there is. here is what you do:
Pull your stock delete plates out. clean them up, and get a dremel with a cutting wheel. remove the actuator motor from the plates, and grind off the tops of the rivets holding the butterflies onto the actuator rod. pop the butterflies off and turn the rod until it is presenting the least obstruction to the airflow. re-install the plates and load a cmdp tune into the ECM. then use the money you saved for another mod.

Make sure you check out prices for your re-tune for the plates as well & factor that into the delete plates.
It requires a complete re-write of your tune, not just a tweak.
I lost a little of my low-end torque when I installed mine, standard. I still have the stock 3:55's on mine though. Not much, but it was there, mainly below 2K or so. Hope to get another dyno here @ Brenspeed's spring dyno day & see what I actually gained with them.

Also keep in mind if you bought your tuner (tune) from Brenspeed, I am pretty sure he will give you a free tune if you were to order the delete plates from him (I think), so the price of modding your own plates and then buying a tune may be the same as or close to if you were to just buy the CMDP's from Brenspeed.
Whos tune are you running?
OCD,

I'm curious why you ask. (?)
