custom heat shield

i will be getting the jlt2 +tune from brenspeed soon but i seen the heat shield is not that good. i was curious if anyone has done a custom one that is better. i was thinking about the airaid because of the heatshield but for price and performance its not worth the extra 100. anyways has anyone tried to customize or make a better heat shield?

Heck, even you JLT guys had to wait almost a full year, before getting your shields. So consider yourselves as fortunate that you even got yours to begin with, as it seemed as though there was always one delay, one excuse right after another. As for you C&L guys are concerned, I wouldn't expect anything to be any different, nor would I count on getting new C&L shields anytime soon, or at all for that matter.

Yeah, I got tired of waiting for the C&L heatshield as well...so I got a supercharger instead.

hey felllas...I make heat shields for the Pontiac G6.
There is a C&L on my Wife's Mustang (S197) and it wouldnt be hard at all to
make a Cold Air Box for it....
I dont think it would look much different though other than being made out of aluminum instead of
plastic. I just do it for fun. I make about enough money to buy a hamburger when I factor in labor.

but no Ford products....I never thought about it cause there are sooo many manufacturers of aftermarket Ford Mustang Mods....

Why would yall want one? Is the plastic one all that bad?

Oh yeah, the plastic one is a POS. Mine cracked within a couple of weeks. Wasn't worth getting a new one for it to happen again.

The Granatelli plastic one isn't the best either... the only diff between it and the C&L would be the size of the opening. I believe the Granatelli requires a larger opening... sure would like a nicely made metal one.

I'm sure glad I stuck with my Steeda CAI, as it's aluminum shield will never crack.
