Cruise Control Question - clutch pedal

When I have the Cruise Control on and I tap the brakes it go off like it should but if I tap the clutch it doesn't, I have to push in on the clutch a little ways (an inch or so maybe a 2") and since I have to push in the clutch so much rpms go up a a few hundred before the cruise turns off. My 01 GT the brake and clutch were then same, just tap the pedal and the cruise goes off.

Is this the way the 05+ Stang are? Or do I need to have the clutch switch adjusted to fix it to just a tap on the clutch pedal turns off the cruise. Thanks...

I've never had CC on a manual car, so Im not exactly sure, but what you've got sounds like it should be right. It takes further travel for the clutch pedal to do anything than it takes the brake pedal.

same thing here. I just pull the e brake lever lightly to kill my cruse control. I never use the clutch.

Yeah, "Off" works just as well. Or tap the brake pedal, that's pretty easy too.

one of my reasons is to be able to still use resume and i don't like to use my brakes that much. Im a down shifter. Ill down shift into the next gear from 3500 rpms to 5500 rpms in the current gear before I tap the brakes. Keeps the people following me close on their toes.

Huh. I have to push mine in an inch or so but it disables the cruise immediately. The engine never revs up.

There's a switch mounted at the top of the pedal that you may be able to tweak a bit. It's not adjustable, but you may be able to use your imagination and find a way to maybe bend the tab it mounts through or something to get it where you need it.

If a cop's behind me I use the clutch pedal , instead of the brakes so the lights don't come on. Like others have said , I have to push it in about an inch , but the cruise control goes off immediately just as if I had hit the brakes ...

For some real excitement pop it out of gear while the cruise is on.

My '95 GT behaved the same as your '01, and my '05 is just as you describe as well... I remember seeing the switch on the '95 between the clutch pedal and the firewall, but not sure if the '05 design is different.

In any case, I don't like that the revs go up a bit if you try to disengage the cruise with the clutch pedal, so I just use the thumb switch to turn it off, or use the brake.

My 01 that would be a real EYE opener if I did that, but in the 07 the cruise won't activate with it out of gear. Ford has added a lot of Oops protection in the current computer...
