CMCV Plates - Vortech

My Vortech equipped 05 GT put down 451whp to the wheels a few months ago. The engine is totally stock, except for the supercharger. I was wondering how much power CMCV plates are worth on a boosted engine. Anyone have any numbers for me?

Thanks,

Jason

Check with Tom281. He has a similar setup and he is running the plates.

Scott,
I thought of Tom, but I don't think he did back to back testing. I am just curious as to how much they are worth by themselves. I am guessing 10-15whp.

Yep, I installed my plates when I was NA, so I can't tell you what they were worth when adding them to a blower.

I would think that the CMP's would have been removed when the Vortech was installed. Doesnt make any sense to have them when your running FI.

I know with a twin screw you absolutely wouldnt want to use the stock plates. Might blow the intake right of the motor. (with enough boost)

The plates in the closed position increase the velocity of the air entering the piston chamber and creates air turbulance for a more even burn. They open at 3000rpm.

I would image though with a centrifigal blower you really dont start making power until about 3000 rpm anyway.

The twin screw kits delete the CMCV plates. I didn't buy them before, but might add them shortly. I'd like to add the plates and a power pipe to my vortech kit, then get a retune.
