I'm getting one of the Shelby replica steering wheels for my GT. On Kevins' parts list, there's a comment that the IUP wheel requires "Air Bag Deactiveation".
Does anyone have the official word about this? I'll take it to a dealer if I have to, but if it's just a matter of pulling a fuse or a plug, I could probably handle it.
The new wheel is a '05 Mustang part that re-uses the Air Bag & horn cover.
Thanks for your help.

I had the dealer replace my GT wheel because it was scratched when I took delivery. Here's what the details say on the paperwork.
"Remove battery cable, remove air bag and steering wheel. Replace steering wheel and air bag. Reconnect battery cable and rechecked. OK now. "

A while ago I was trying to find out also, and I found some more instructions on another forum posted by "easybayauction." Here is what he said:
I figured it out. There are two plastic plugs, one on each side of the steering wheel. Pry these out with a screwdriver, comes out easy. There is a 8mm bolt in each one, take these out. The airbag/horn section pulls right out, unplug the airbag connectors from the back of the airbag there are two(make sure ignition is off and keys are out). Then unplug the connector in the center top, this goes to all the cruise control buttons. There is one large bolt in the center, unbolt this and the wheel comes right off with no problem!
