Can our cars out perform a Porsche ?

With only a CAI kit, a tune, shocks/struts, and springs, can our cars out perform a stock Porsche Cayman on a track?

Or would we need more mods than I listed?

Assume the skill of the drivers are the same for both cars.

A cayman. Maybe. A cayman S. I doubt it.

4:10 gears and upgraded brakes would really help. They are 3000 pounds with better brakes and I'd say better handling.

Article comparing Cayman S versus mustang GT, around tracks. It is the Cayman S. Maybe much closer race with the regular Cayman.

HAHA. I didn't think they actually did a comparison out there. Guess I was right.

Porche's are in a totally different class and financial range. They have always been very well balanced, have a great suspension, and are on the lighter side.

Maybe in a straight line and just the cayman, but they are purpose built for handling and very low, light and balanced.

On a road course, pretty much no way. Significant amount of weight reduction, full suspension (watts link/coilovers, etc), and some racing tires

With a decently sorted suspension and the usual bolt-ons, our car is close enough to make it a driver's race for the base 996, 997 or Cayman. The GT3's I've run into on the track are another story...
