DavidBorla who posts over at stangnet mentioned that the 05 Catback and axleback are the same (same mufflers(stingers, now known as STypes/tips) only one has the extra piping etc.

Ask anyone that has Borla Stingers how they sound, and check out any soundclips over at www.mustangexhaust.com
Borla makes topnotch products.

I have yet to hear stingers in person, but have been told its the greatest sound (like borlas signature sound, but a bit more aggressive and louder)

Then what's this about 2000rpm in 5th then?? I just want to hear what the worst drone is...... I know it sounds good otherwise. I don't want to give up a great sounding, non-droning system for a loud, droning, obnoxious one (that's my fear but I know Borla usually does an amazing job.......)

Kahdir, have that clip yet??

hahah..i'll take you for a ride and show you the drone.
Makes you feel like your brain is going to explode!

Dude, after hearing this exhaust...you won't want anything else BUT....
Your's sounds good...no doubt.

Ours sounds better

Be sure to wear loose pants when you hear it start up...

Guys, it's Friday, 9-02-05.

Kahdir says his stock is due in three weeks from now.

Steeda has 8 sets in stock. i can't wait so i will go with steedas. good luck in finding your borlas, boys. here's steeda's email response to me today.

Our axle back is NOT a rebadged Borla. They are made to OUR specifications by Borla.

http://www.steeda.com/store/-catalog/040-130040.htm

The Steeda axle back is designed to have a nice rumble at idle and screams at wide open throttle. However,

they do not have the typical 1800 to 2500 rpm drone associated with aftermarket exhausts.

I currently have 8 sets in stock and have another shipment due in next week.

Thanks,
Patt Kinder

'our specification' means.. 'our tips'
hahaha

Honestly...I don't think they are that much different.
Maybe some packing on the inside, but the rest looks the same with a Steeda logo and different tips.

They even sound the same...

yes they are the loud ones. they are made to be tame near idle, then scream when opened up. YES.

they are $429.99 at steeda. borlas are $489.99 to $519.99 on the net for the most part. yep, i like the slash tip of the steedas. and i can also polish them before throwing them on i figure. undecided about that.
