C & L Help

Hey guys,

A little help before I call C & L. I put the CAI on yesterday. Everything fit fine but I had trouble with the heat shield. When I aligned and set flush the shield mounting hole with the fender hole, the unit sat cocked at a funny angle. And, there was no relationship to the valve cover bolt at all. I hope I explained that correctly. Any help is appreciated.

Simply use the one bolt on the fenderwell (where the stock box bolt was). On my identical unit, once you assemble the entire CAI, it will fit fine. It is not necessary to have it attached anywhere else. (read: I didn't tie wrap mine in the front). Do not concern yourself with the valve cover bolt.

Mine seems to work fine and hood helps holds it in place nicely.

I recall having to bend one of the tubes from the anti-lock thingy in order for the heat sheild to fit proper...I then wire tied the sheild to one of the tubes.

It's not the best designed nor the best fitting heat shield. When the hood closes, it'll have a nice tight fit up between the weatherstripping and hood liner.

Me too. Mine ended up looking just like the one above. I want one of the new heat sheilds that is in development if it ever shows up.
