C&L CAI/tuner help
I found a used C&L CAI and want to ensure it will install/work ok on my '07 GT. The owner has indicated is it an older version (not like the current one that can be installed without a tune) and supposedly had on his car for about a year. I realize this one would require a retune (which I plan to do as part of the CAI upgrade), so will be shopping for a tuner as well.
I did look at the stock tube on my car and there is some type of sensor (with wiring) right next to the filter box. And when looking at the picture of the used unit, not seeing anything in that area on the tube (maybe its on the underside of the tube).
I assume that sensor is there for a reason, but wondering how it would hook up on an after-market CAI. This is my first time playing around with this "newer" engine technology and want to get it right. Part of me says to just spend the money and get a new one along with the matched tuner from C&L.
Thoughts, advice, suggestions welcomed.

It looks like a C&L 'Street' intake. I bought mine used as well and have had no problems with it.
The sensor you're talking about is the MAF sensor. It's a cartridge style sensor, so you can reuse it in the C&L. It is held in by two screws and just slides out of the OEM intake. You'll then slide it into the C&L intake, in the slot just behind the air filter. (not visible in the pic you have posted)
Make sure you DO NOT reuse the OEM screws as they will break. I broke mine....
As far as a tuner.. it's a very popular intake, so just about everyone has a tune for it.

Great! So the slot you are talking about I assume is on the back side of the piece that attaches to the filter, correct? Also, is there a big issue with the box seal being 2 pieces? I noticed the newer version has single seal along a round top egde. So what do think is a "good" price for this unit?? Right now he has it for 240 shipped.

$319 new from BamaChips. Haven't looked at Brenspeed, Tillman, or others, but they're probably pretty close.
You may want to see if that support bracket matches up to your camcover bolt. Number of bolts changed on 07+ camcovers.
Personally, I would opt to get the CAI and tuner w/tunes new and from one place.

I also checked on some of the packages at Bamachips and they have the C&L witha tuner for $599. So even if I get the used CAI, would still need to get a tuner... so for minimal amount of incremental cost, I get new parts and a matched tune. So will probably just wait and go that route.
