buying a 4th tune

I want to buy a Brenspeed tune, but i don't want to overwrite my three Bamachips tunes. Is there an option to save one of my Bamachips tunes before adding a new Brenspeed tune to my Xcal2 tuner?

well just have doug send you the original tunes via email. Then delete and add what you want. Doubt its going to get much better than dougs thou, LOL. I love those tunes, I really only use the 93 race and it kicks major butt.

I requested them via email, at the time of purchase and also a week later, but I haven't received a response yet. So I thought I'd try a different route in the meantime.

I figured that the application which uploads files to your tuner might have an option to save a tune before overwriting it with a new one.

I saved my e-mailed tunes on my computor and then load them into the tuner as needed. I had some from Brenspeed and Bamachips, that's how I compared about six different ones.

Yep no problems with doing that for me either.

but he does not have the tunes from bamachips downloaded on his computer, they are on the tuner, he is trying to do what you guys did but yeah the xcal does not have an option to unload the tunes from the tuner to the computer so you will have to wait to get the tunes from doug unless you want to delete a file and then when the tunes come in you can save them and have the file again

You can still dump the files onto the computer as a backup from the XCal using SCT software. Then use Liveload to load whichever ones you please.

True, you can back up your Xcal but you can't restore back to it from those files. The backup makes 2 files 'dump.dat' and 'dump.idx'. You can't restore from those files unless you get SCT or a tuner programmer to do it. That's been one of my complaints about the XCal.

Yeah, I guess it bothered me because I wanted to have a backup of my stock tune that could be restored by me whenever I needed. Doug did my tunes and emailed them to me so I have those as ll3's on the computer. So I'm not worried about backing those up from the XCal device since I already have them. It's just the stock tune I wish I could have a backup of.
