Burning tires on an auto?

I just got back with my new mustang gt!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so thrilled I cant go ten minutes without going outside to look at it!! Now I got a good deal on an Auto so I decided to take it. Then I took it out today to see if I could squael them and it wont!! It just accelerates like a bad outa hell!! I tried the same thing after taking the TCS off but same results. Am I doing somthing wrong or is it just impossible to do?

Hold the brkes with left foot, give her gas with the right. once the tires break loose , just nail it. Use as much brake as you want to either sit and burn or let off the brake and accelerate.
Until you have forced induction yiou wont spin much just givin her gas.
I can nail it at 40 MPH and burn the tires but I have much more power than stock

I have had my GT with auto for over two years now and have NEVER done a burnout. I guess I am getting too old for such things. Besides, I paid good money for my tires, not to mention the car, and don't feel the need to destroy either. Good luck !!

First of all, make sure the car is broken in properly before you start doing burnouts. Then go buy an intake and race tune from Doug at bamachips. With this your car will be able to chirp the tires when it shifts and do burnouts fairly easily.

I agree that it is easier to smoke 'em with a 93 Race Tune from Bama...I was leaving work today and didn't watch what I was doing (just got the tune and CAI last Thursday) and they squeled a bit (oops!) But I agree, I've got some expensive tires, so why burn 'em?

you can do a very nice burn out with out a tune. With the 600+dollars you save on a tune you can buy new tires

With the bama tune, I can nail it at a stop and get a squeel but to really light 'em up need to use the brakes. Or if you have a big area, stop completely, turn the wheels and nail it, do-nuts are fun with an auto! Can concentrate on where your going rather than bouncing off the rev limmiter

I don't understand why anyone would buy a 300hp/320tq car and be worried about wasting fuel and burning rubber. You think you need 300hp just to merge onto the freeway or cruise around the neighborhood at 20mph?

I say smoke em if you got em!

I guess I'm an old fart, as well. I've waited 3 years for this car and I'm not about to abuse her. No burnouts for me, thank you very much.

I did smoke 'em once or twice when I loaded the tune and CAI, but my advice is drive it like it was meant to be driven...don't baby it, don't beat it!
