Bullitt strut tower brace installed

just installed the bullitt strut tower brace, clears the factory manifold cover
by 1/2", with no hood clearance issues.

What about marks in the hood liner?

There will be marks on the hood liner. Now that I have driven mine more you can tell the liner is rubbing on the brace.

So it fits just like the GT500 STB fits without any "problems"?

Perhaps the hood liner on the GT and the Bullitt are different. Maybe you need a Bullitt hood liner to go with the STB. My hood liner and Kenny Brown strut tower brace rubbed on my 88 GT.

I would have thought using the Ford STB would not have any fitting issues. I don't have any rubbing issues with my factory installed STB. Click on image for larger image.

Yeah the V6 brace is awesome. I'm glad they put it on the Bullitt.

I painted it this way on purpose, it was easier to fill in the Ford with blue because it was stamped and recessed then it was to try to paint the raised surface.
is this better?

So the Bullitt uses the V6 STB? I guess that makes sense because it matches the V6 grille.

Bill, just out of curiosity. How much did you pay for your Bullitt STB, and whom did you purchase it from ?

The 2005's hood will probably be jammed open with the GT500 STB.

Aren't those dents in your hood liner that I am seeing or is that the way the hood liner looks from the factory? I know they changed all the hood liners back in 2007 to the current style that is also on the Bullitt in order to get the STB to clear.

My recommendation to anyone using GT500 strut tower braces on a Mustang GT, is reversing the bar. Otherwise it will NOT fully clear the hood when closed, in which you will notice slight bulges between the gaps in the hood, and front fender.

Also note: You cannot use an OEM plenum cover, with a GT500 STB reversed !
