Brenspeed or Bama

As far as a I know Brenspeed will only update your tune if you bought the new parts from them. Again, to the best of my knowledge Bama doesn't make that distinction. If either Doug or Brenspeed wants to chime in on this, I'd be happy to be corrected. Just one more thing to consider in a long list. I went with TillmanSpeed myself. The mail-order tune felt good at the time, but when CR put it on the dyno we found out what it could really do
If you buy any tune from either on these tuners they will update their tunes at NO CHARGE. No Parts required!!!!! I have done this with both.

As long as you purchase the tunes from Brenspeed. He will update them for you. At no additional charge.
However if you purchase another vendor's parts, and then want him to update your tunes, for them. Then yes, he will charge you for updating them.
But then again, why wouldn't you purchase the parts from him anyhow.
His prices are very competititive to begin with.

I got my kit from Bamachips. Showed up 2 days after I ordered it, from Alabama to Michigan. Bamachips has a few different tune profiles (race/torque/performance) - my car has always turned the best times using the torque tune, and "feels" better to me as well.

Really, the customer service issue is just related to the size of the operation, Doug can only do so many things at one time, even if he's increased his staff, its only 1 or 2 people more. So, if you want to call and speak to someone everytime, Doug might not be the best chioce for some people. For me, Doug has my business, and will have it for whatever changes I need. 'Course, being from Alabama, and being a Tide fan(Crimson Tide), I might be a bit biased too.!!!LOL!!

Doug is a stand up person, did my dyno tune and works great, He even sent me his valve spring tool to change the valve springs on my car! shipped it at no charge! now that's customer service! Dougs #1 in my book.

I don't think it is going to matter for now. I have a pinging issue I am going to have to resolve before I can think about a performance tune. I put my stock air box back on today, (I have an Airaid CAI) but the pinging sounds worse. I will try a tank of 89 gas from a different station and hope that works. Could spark plugs cause this? The car has 32000 miles on it

Some people like Brenspeed best, some people like Bamachips best. Some people have run both of their canned tunes, they are going to be pretty similar as far as hp/tq numbers go. Bamachips does different tunes based on throttle response (Race vs. Perf vs. Torque) from what I can tell. Brenspeed gives you his best overall experience tune at a given octane.

I have brenspeed tunes that I really like. I have met Doug from Bama and I can tell you that he is a great guy that knows his stuff. You can't go wrong with either.

This is most likely a thread I should not post in but here is my real life results with both these guys. Ran Doug's tunes for about 1 year. They were awesome! He is hard to get hooked up with to make changes. This is not a slam just my experieces. I like it when someone answers the phone when you call. I am running Brents tunes at present for just this reason. Not becasue I think they are best...I'm not sure!! But I like it when someone picks up the phone when I want to talk to someone. Just my experience with the both of them.
