Breaking into the 12's

Hooray for boobies I have done it!

C&L intake, brenspeed 93octane tune, hooker long tubes, offroad h-pipe, borla catback exhaust, and I took out the spare tire

60': 1.935
1/8: 8.389
1/4: 12.999
mph: 105.55

The front tires had 50psi and the rear had 30.

When I get all those other parts installed that I have and get some slicks, I hope to be looking at low 12's.

and my freind took the most kickass picture of my car that I have ever seen... as soon as I can get my hands on it, I will post it. And as soon as my broken computer becomes not broke I'll scan the timeslip. That might be a few weeks though.

Thats a superb time!

Can you tell me if when you had the Hooker LT's and H-Pipe fitted could you feel the difference when getting on it? How easy were they to fit, engine mounts required?

Also did you try any other tunes before Brenspeeds, like maybe a Canned tune? If so did Brenspeeds tune feel better?

Hope you can help me as I am currently looking for a set of LT Headers and Mid-Pipe but need something that fits with ease. As you have no CATs is your car really loud and what about emissions does it smell?

Thanks

Gibbo

Seems like it would be tough to get enough traction. I think Brent at Brenspeed ran like 12.6 with 4.30s, C&L, tune, offroad pipe, pullies, and slicks. I was thinking that he said his suspension was stock but I'm not sure; I would think that either lower or upper or both control arms would be very helpful.

Great photo of a burnout however no way will I ever believe this is the start of a 12.99 run with all the time lost with the wheel spin. I can see the smoke drifting forward. Sorry! I have not run in the 12s yet but I do know what is required to get there.

No, that is probably not the run that was the 12.99, but that was the burnout...not the green light

there was no wheel spin on probably 2/3 of the runs i made, on the stock tires

Shouldn't the smoke drifting forward tell you that the car was stationary? I have run a 13.02 with similar mods, so I'm sure that his car could do it.

Have you ever raced at a track??? If you had, then you would know that the burnout and the actual run are two separate events.
