It's funny you mentioning your wife. My wife will not even set foot in my car. It's not the exhaust, but it's the acceleration that she doesn't like.

Well technically it's her car. I simply get to mod it and work on it and take care of it and am allowed the privilege of driving it.

Yes. Here is the link for mine.

Absolutely no drone with frpp shorties and x-pipe. Pretty mellow, but you can tell they are not stock. Actually quieter inside the car.

If you're that worried about the drone, I'd say go with the GTA version. Especially since you own a vert. But you're gonna miss out on the best sounding mufflers out there for the S197. In case you do decide to get the GTS "Stinger" version, realistically don't count on avoiding the drone. It kicks in between 1600 and 1900 rpms which is exactly the range you consistently hit in 5th at regular cruise speed around 60mph. To avoid it, you'd have to adjust your driving behavior to something uneasy that you're unlikely to keep. The exhaust mod should be fun, not a pain in the *** on a daily basis.

Drone isn't just something that sounds bad or sounds good (depending on your perspective). It can and will permanently damage your hearing.

Where did you get yours and if you don't mind me asking how much you paid for them?

I really do like the aggressive sound of the Stingers though.
But as I was driving yesterday I heard a loud drone and thought where the hell was that coming from. Then I noticed a S197 GT turning the corner, I followed for a mile or so and thought wow that is annoying.

Not the good Wahhhhhhhmmm.... ba-ba-ba-ba.... Wahhhhhhhmmm, that we all love.
Just a constant uhhhhmmmmm.

I know what you mean. After driving w/ the Violators for a mere 6 months, I am now extremely drone sensitive and do not like drone AT ALL. Almost all of the aftermarket exhaust systems will drone due to shoddy NVH reduction, which is cheaper than spending time to reduce NVH. This is one reason why OEM exhaust systems and Corsas are so expensive. They actually paid for engineering hours to fine tune the chambers and paths to reduce drone.

I heard going with any off-road pipe (no cats) will reduce or eliminate this drone. In addition, a co-worker said he killed much of the drone with his Mac Pro chamber. It sounds loud as heck from the outside, but he claims there is no drone on the inside with his Bassani axle-backs.

And I thougt the Borla's were expensive...

Do you think Kooks LT headers and an off-road x will cure drone?

I went back to the stock axle-backs a few months ago. I have the Violators sitting in a box. I'll most likely never touch the exhaust system in the future.
