I've been searching around the internet trying to see what may be the best way to remove most or all of the wheel hop I experience. Not sure if there is anything available for the 2005 yet. I am just hoping someone doesn't reply with "oh, you need to replace the entire suspension."
Any ideas?

Thanks
David

I don't get much wheel hop but then again I haven't really pushed my car around corners and such.

However, we also don't have a Ferrari or Porshce.

I have the same problem. I am waiting on a set of adjustable Steeda lower control arms with urethane bushings. I have been told by the techs that if I change pinion angle to negative 2 degrees that should take care of the wheel hop, if not then different shocks are probably in order. I also noticed that my wheel hop was much worse after putting on better tires, 275/45/17s which are 10 inches wide instead of 8 inches of factory rubber.

Are those 275's on the stock 8 inchers? They look amazing!
Have you guys tried a simple solution 1st, like balancing the tire? Not sure if they are balanced from factory, because I can't see the little weights on.

You will find the 3 link is a great rear to tune once the parts are available.

I agree that these need to be replaced to cure the axle tramp/ wheel hop but I'm not sure I'm up to the job. I looked under the car and saw three problems:
1. The emergency brake cable is routed through an opening in the lower control arm on both sides. Not sure how much trouble it is to disconnect the the cables from the brakes.
2. It looks like Ford deliberately "rounded" the nuts on the bolts holding the arms in place. A 12-point socket is definitely not going to work and I'm not sure that even a 6-point socket will be able to grap the nut.
3. Just how do you go about measuring the pinion angle? Seams like it would be difficult to measure exactly 2 degrees. Also, if the adjusted length of one arm is any different from the length of the other arm, it will throw the alighnment out.

Pease let us know what you find out. Thanks,

The Boss Hog

Boss Hog,

I DO have an answer for number 3: You don't adjust the lower control arms to adjust pinion angle. You adjust the short (and single!) UPPER link. There are already a couple of different companies that make fully adjustable upper links for the 05.
