I'd have to say Manual and Rolling Stones. I don't have a CAI yet, and my gears are 3.55.

Auto in traffic, Manual on the open road - since I commute in the Bay area I chose an auto.
If I were to do gears I'd most likely do 3.73's.
C&L hands down - or JLT or ProFab or Steeda/FRPP
Zeppelin! If I had to choose between the Beatles and the Stones I would choose the Beatles. The Stones Goats Head Soup and before are great but they have been too swayed by the popular music of the times since. Their releases after that have sucked. Their current tours are nothing more than money grabs.

Manual - even in traffic (plenty of 5mph freeway crawls here...) gives an awesome "connected to the machine" feel I couldn't live without in a driver's car.

4.10s - probably second mod I'll do after CAI/tune, haven't read a convincing reason not to go all the way to 4.10s from my weak sauce 3.55s.

Classic Stones, although I don't appreciate their recent cash grabs or their boot licking ability to recite RIAA verbage. Meh.

New music ain't so bad, just stay away from anything even remotely popular.

On the dragstrip: automatic and 4.10's.
On a road course: manual and 3.73's.
C&L > K&N, but the JLT > C&L.
Rolling Stones > Beatles, but neither are metal enough for my likings (I prefer Megadeth).

And while we all have differing opinions on transmissions, gears, CAI, and rock'n'roll, at least we all agree on Mustangs - and Alloy Gray Mustangs at that!

This is no where/no how Alloy specific. It would be better suited in the general car chat. At the max the general S197 section.

This is a bunch of G-5ers hanging out here and talking about ANYTHING. If this is a problem I just won't come back!

The mods at TMS promote an, err, rear-end retentive atmosphere with posts. My guess is a misdiagnosed case of OCD or free time somewhere.
I mean, technically, both his posts were off topic too.

I've made this point for people before: posting on a forum is fun, not work, pretty simple really. If a site chooses to make belonging to that community more work than fun regarding harmless digressions like off topic posts and camaraderie, then that forum will lose quality eye-*****. Because there are other websites that get it. Plus, frantically ensuring a thread is filed under the correct bin misses the point big time: for example, if people thought posting Bullitt specific issues in the Bullitt section was correct, how is moving the threads to parts unknown helping anyone except those whose job it is to file the folders in the right cabinet?

Though Gary, your post on the subwoofer would have helped you much better if it was in the main forum under interior mods. The people there are very knowledgable and helpful. Same goes for Mercury83s post on his tune emergency.

As for this thread, I find this G-5 owner specific information wholly informative, useful and fascinating.

at least we all agree on Mustangs - and Alloy Gray Mustangs at that!
Yes!

And I have to reaffirm, 2 hours of bumper-to-bumper construction traffic over the past two days, and it's still manual>auto. I mean, I get to hear that growl every time I nudge it forward.

As others have stated, this has nothing to do with the colour Alloy so no point in it being in that forum Sounds like some of you have problems with admins, mods, etc. So be it. This is now in the "GT performance mods" section since the only thing in the original topic that had nothing to do with GT performance is the "Beatles or Rolling Stones" comment.

Anyway

Manual
4.10's
C&L
neither

You will find that posts get moved around when they obviously belong in a different section. There is a sub forum called "Off-Topic" where people discuss "anything" not related to mustangs.

I most certainly have nothing against any of the mods and very much do not appreciate that being inferred out of context....
Neither have I never had any reason to have any issue with any mod, just the aggresive shuffling can be quite counterproductive if you aren't fully aware of the consequences. Sure there are many people who's threads should be moved for decidedly poor post location, no argument there. But to move all posts, especially something like this one, goes a long ways towards deconstruction of potential community.

Why have the sections by color in the first place? Each post in any of the Mustang color community sections would technically belong in another section if you were to apply such broad brushed logic.

The unfortunate part is nobody was upset and now I see the point here isn't to foster a sense of community, but to ensure the floors get kept clean. Let me guess, mods get positive reinforcement for sweeping the floors?
Rules & Regs=1, Alloy Community=0
Happy now?

Harumph.

Wow, and to think you just assumed I was talking about you. Post moving is a never ending topic and if you would like to continue the conversation feel free to post in the Feedback forum. Anyway, back on topic.
