Hello everyone!

I can't decide between the C&L "Racer" Air Intake and the C&L "TrueFlow" Air Intake. Performance wise, which is better? I understand the "Racer" has a plastic inlet tube vs an aluminum tube in the "TrueFlow". Other than weighing less and having a bigger intake assembly, why should someone get the "Racer" instead of the "TrueFlow"?

Let me know what you think as soon as it is convenient.

Cheers,
Jon

I think Doug tested it and the racer version had no HP gain

Hmmm, thats interesting. Granted, I'm new to the world of modding, I just thought a bigger inlet (95mm to 85mm) meant that we could expect more power out of it.

I am looking at getting the racer myself, for 2 reasons....1 its cheaper and performs about the same as the trueflow. 2, I am thinking about going with a saleen blower in about 6 months or so, and I think the larger MAF will help that. Im trying to get a quote from Brent@brenspeed to see how much he can get us the racer version for.

This is straight from the C&L website.

"Although the new "Racer" system is larger than our original system and has a greater flow capacity, it has not proven to generate better performance than our existing "Street/Strip" package. It is our opinion that our original kit is of the ideal size for most people, and only those with more substantial modifications (such as ported heads and cams) will be able to find greater performance afforded by the larger "Racer" package."

Personally I would get the trueflow since it is made from and aluminum and more durable. However the racer is cheaper so...
