Which is the best Cold air intake?

Hi everyone I'm new to this site and wanted some advise/opinions. So I own a stock 2007 Mustang GT and I want a cold air intake for it. Now I don't want to spend a fortune, but I want the most bang for my buck. I've been looking around online and I'm leaning towrd a JLT kit with a tune, what do u guys think are other good options? Thanks!!!

Thumbs up

IMO that's right choice.
Most bang for the buck.
That's what I finally put on my blue 2006.
But it was only a couple of hp more than the K&N with a tune.
The tune is the really important part.
Get a custom dyno tune if you can.

JLT and C&L Racer are considered by many to be very good.

I have a jlt 110mm tuned by BAMA from american muscle and I must say I love it. The only thing I don't like is the heat shield.

i have the steeda cai and tune from steeda. i can tell you significant performance increase as well as more attitude and sound from the car. I really like the steeda kit. they advertise about 35 hp gain and I would believe every bit of that.

"Best" is a subjective term but I did a fair amount of research and I bought a C&L Racer CAI with an SC3 tuner and tune...I am very, very pleased with it. The tune makes a huge difference, especially with the stock drive-by-wire throttle lag...it wakes the car right up!

I second everything said above. The Steeda CAI is well worth it. Along with the tune it was a huge leap over stock and you wont be disappointed at all for the money spent. The car felt much better immediately after my install.

So in my area almost every gas station has 92 octane as its max. If I buy a CAI that requries a 93 octane tune and I put 92 in it is there any negative effects that could happen?

No CAI "requires" 93.
The tune determines the octane needed.
A tune rated for 93 when running 92 might cause a little knocking under hard acceleration, which is bad for the engine.
Get a 91 octane tune for your application. You can safely run 91 or higher with that.
There really is not a great difference in the parameters of a 91 tune and a 93. My tuner told me the loss of power of 91 vs 93 tune would not be really noticeable.
