BBR Head/Cam swap in mm&ff

They used the Stage 2 heads, and Stage 1 cams in a stock GT and put it at 330hp and 320lb/ft. I don't know if they changed out the underdrive pulley, but they added a JLT intake and got 351hp and 336lb/ft.

So it would appear the setup is not so bad after all? I wonder what the stage 2 cams would put down.

I read the article today, and then I remembered it was MM&FF that claimed to have gotten over 25hp with the BBK TB and CAI, with no reflash. Hmmm....

i would imagine rear, because they throw out the stock numbers as 265'hp' and we all know that's at the wheels

although looking at the dynosheet in the magazine, the torque curve is very wavy, so i guess that means it doesn't work with the vct very well

Wow, those are pretty wavy. Looks like it needs a little more tweaking to get it right.

That looks more like Knock sensor activation rather then VCT. From what I saw of the BBR cams they remove the VCT by replacing the cam gear with a stationary peice.

Still waiting to be seen though, with a cam and ported heads that doesn't show me much? Just my opinion though.

Thats 95 hp, how much would you expect from heads and cams?

How does 330 rwhp and 320 rwtq equal 95hp? Most stock manual 05-06's make 260-265 and around 275-280 rwtq. Add just a tune and you are around 275-280 rwhp and 285-290 rwtq, finally a good tune, CAI, UDP's, H or X pipe and you are at 300 rwhp and 320 rwtq.

With this cam setup they say they have a SCT tune so that should account for about 10 rwhp of this swap.

Not knocking it just I dont think for the price of both Heads, Cams, and Dynotune you should get more then 30-40 rwhp.

Just my opinion.... Doug904.

Lets say ~265hp to start with, plus heads/cams put it at 330hp. that is 65hp. then they threw on a cai and gained another 20 or so.

I don't get what all the hoopla is about... it is all right there in the magazine.

Doug how much longer till you get your car back??

From what i was to understand(from what i read) the customers car had O R X-pipe, Magnapack Mufflers, but other than that it was stock....

Their test car had both STAGE 2 Heads&Cams and it made 382rwhp with full exhaust system and 409rwhp with race gas and radical tune.......

Those are pretty good numbers compared 280ish....

I learned a long time ago not to believe numbers in MM&FF. They shill to anyone that advertises in them. As MTAS stated, go back to the issue with the BBK throttle body in it. They must have gotten the only good aftermarket throttle body released for the S197s because no one else has ever seen numbers like that.

I wouldn't trust anything they've put together. The funny thing to me was the pic of those guys "working" on the car. They break more things than they fix. Almost every other shop around them has had to correct something they've screwed up. Anyone would have a better chance doing ANY mod themselves than having those derelict's do it. Has everyone forgotten the whole scene with their number's claims, challenge, and not meeting upto the challenge. Notice they've stopped posting on the forums?

Thanks for the voice of reason 169.
No I haven't forgot. This company is a bunch of scam artists trying to sell parts anyway they can. Not to be trusted under any circumstance.
