I'm with you. Not a loaded question, how does this thing add power over stock? It looks like the stock 55mm will flow enough for 300HP. I heard excess flow does not add power. If it really is 8HP for $300 and 15 minutes, sounds like a great mod.

Yup, you can guarentee a tune needed ( just my opinion ). When I called last Monday to ask them several questions because they refused to answer any of my emails.....uh...what was I saying? Oh yea, when I called last Monday I asked about the TB and was told at least another month. But they have been saying that for a couple of months now.

Here is an update. We have had the throttle body's on order for over a month.

Looks like it may be September when they are finished. As far as testing the word is they picked up 11 rwhp and did not require a tune. You can believe I will have this on the dyno right when we get them.

We have a lot of them on order and we will have them in stock when the first shipment is released.

For now just sit back and wait because it is going to be a while.

I hate it when someone advertises for what they don't have. Then you hear, "It'll be ready in a couple weeks" for about 3 months. It just gets old. I think it's wrong. In my industry, as a manufacturer, if you so much as hint to someone that you have a new product...you better have large quantities ready to ship. You can't play that game like BBK has done. That new product automatically has a shadow of doubt cast over it, just b/c it was mentioned and not ready to go.

I Got the Granatelli Motor Sports 62mm TB and I Dynoed it and there was little HP gains from it, What I did Gain was a better throttle response, a noticable differance, the aftermarket TB is Billit Aluminum with Virgin Brass grears and the blade shafts have sealed bearings.
The Stock TB is 55mm Cast Aluminum, Plastic gears and the blade shaft go through sleaves. Over all the aftermarket is of higher quality.

I have a great SCT Tune that got rid of most of the lag but, the most noticable hesitation remained, was the cruising at 40mph you need to pass the slow poke and you step on the gas and there is a 1 sec hesiatation before the Autotrans kicks into passing gear, I hear the TB open, the air going in, but the motor just does not get what I want it too do for a second or two. Then it's like Oh Ya you want to go, I see zooooom

Thats the Lag I am trying to get rid of, and in most cases the aftermarket TB has removed a good portion of it, but now it's down to a 1/2 sec.

Maybe I am being picky, but Damit, when my pedel hits the floor, I want the car to move right then. Is that asking too much ?????
I don't want the engine to think about it, then ask the PCM for input, query the trans, request a response in triplacetts (sp?) before the engine goes, This is not congress, it's my 05 stang

I have been doing a lot of research on the 05 aftermarket TB and I have been finding that all the billit style TB are made by the same company, the MotoBlue, Granatelli, Central Coast Mustang, Take a look

I have the central mustang TB and it gained 7hp and 11lb-ft torque with my Vortech blower kit.Not sure what it would gain on a N/A motor though

Yah I would believe that you gained power having a blower that is good info. I might also believe that the new throttle body's may help with cam/intake cars. BUT I have dyno'd the new throttle body's a couple months ago and gain was less than 2 HP on a mostly stock car. They look good but that is about it. I will of course test the BBK also when they come out but I have to assume it will be just like my original test. FYI the original test was the billet unit everybody sells. We were going to sell them also but with little to no gains I couldn't justify selling them YET. I get a call at least 8 times a week with somebody wanting a throttle body and after I tell them the TRUE gains they don't want it. Manufacturers make my job harders because I have to explain to the end user why his ram air system does not really make 30 horsepower. I might consider getting the billet units or the BBK units in 2006 for the blower guys and as cams come out they might be worth it. Believe me I want parts to work it makes my job easier and my own mustang faster.

The Aftermarket throttle body is made for a SC, IMHO. this is the only application where adding a TB will net you noticable HP. other than that, yes the TB is a waste of money.

I just wasted 350 bucks, I should have purchased an X-pipe and headers

Billet is better then a cast version. Also GMS uses oil impregnated Bronze gears not Brass or plastic http://www.granatellimotorsports.com/image...TB0507small.jpg

This thread labels a Throttle Body as wasteful for NA and your brand was listed above as not doing much at all for performance numbers, same thing as the others.

Feel free to advertise more.

Hey Dan, I assume you've seen the other thread on this site, where Granatelli made the offer to test his product. The test was done by one of our members and the TB did exactly what is claimed, so I think wasteful is a Poor choice of words. But, who knows, maybe it just depends on weather or other outside factors????

Won't it be nice when our cars are as figured out as 5.0's and we know exactly what to expect...
