Hey guys, I am consindering these as my next mod, before my tune on the 15th Jan. Now, Bassani does NOT have any gains posted, and per a phone to them, they do not have any period

I have been doing some reading on an X-Pipe as well as prior year Mustangs with similar system. So, if you have an educated opinion or experience on the X-Pipes and/or the Bassani CompCats, lets hear them.

The only things I have read about are this:

1. X-Pipe gives smooth exhaust flow
* No idcea on the sound
2. The CompCats are less restrivtive, so you loose low end power but gain it in the mid to upper area.

Thoughs, RWHP, RWTQ, etc ?

I too am looking at the Bassani x-pipe. I am not as worried about power, what I want is the sound.

I have some friends who put x-pipes on their old mustangs and the sound difference was night and day.

Anyone out there who has the Bassani x-pipe that liked the addition? How was the sound?

Swingle,
Did you have the mufflers and x-pipe installed at the same time or at different times?

I currently have the JBA axle back kit (bassini mufflers were a little pricey for me). I am wondering how much sound the X-pipe will add.

does bassini offer a catback system, if not will they ever? I bet the sound quality i heard about bassini would be great on their catbacks.

Had them done at the same time Ryan....couldn't give ya the before and after because of it obviously...The x-pipe could only help exhaust flow and sound in my opinion though....regardless of muffler type (even stock).....hope you're able to pick one up...

I think I'll be ordering tonight.

Funny story on the bassani x-pipe. The steeda website has it listed at $329. I called a local shop here in Michigan and they wanted $749 for it!!!!! What a rip, talk about price gouging!

So my pipe will just have to take the long journey from CA to the home of the stang Detroit baby.

lol. irony of ironies.

i'm actually having the bassani xpipe w/ comp cats installed on saturday morning. so i'll be a little late for the meeting at HPE. shouldn't be too long though. i was in talks with a couple shops over the last few weeks, waiting for them to come in stock. now they're here.

i'm really looking forward to having the bassanis on my 05...can't wait to get out there and let you guys hear how it sounds.

i'll try to remeber and bring my camera out, so take pics of the before/during/after of my install.

$469 + $479 + $150 install = 1098 * 1.0825 (tax) = approx. $1188.60

this is for the entire setup. the xpipe w/ the mufflers and ss duel walled rolled tips, and the high flow comp cats w/ off-road legs.

Dont get too excited. I cannot install them, and neither will you.

These guys at Bassani got the f@!#$%^& bungs in the wrong spot so I cannot install the oxygen sensor. They developed them wiht a Ford Prototype and apparently they mount different than the prototype. So, I have emailed them pics of the oxygen sensor connectors - if they are the same - they will overnight the cable extentions.

However, I have a feeling (since I am all done) that I may open the wrire wrap and see if they will stretch long enough. For sure, once side will reach, but the other may not.

Per Bassani, they look the same, so they are overnighting me the cable extentions. If this works for me, they will do the same for others.
