Hey all-

Well I'm at it again. I want to try another exhaust system. I currently have the Bassani X-pipe w/cats (off-road for now) and the Magnaflow catbacks.
BTW- antoher video (as promised) is coming soon.

I really don't know what to make of this combination. I feel like its a mismatch. Kind of raspy because of the x-pipes but a little deep because of the Magnaflows. Personallly I miss my SLP's but I felt I was loosing low end torque so that why I changed.
Definitely think it's time for another change. Everytime I hear a 2003-04 Cobra I know that is the sound I want to achieve.

So with all that said...

Bassani axleback or Flowmasters? I'm leaning towards these because they are chambered mufflers (I think), therefore, they probably sound close to one another. How about drone on both of them?

I would appreciate any comments and guideness.

Cheers_Jay

I would go bassani. Why mismatch parts not designed to go together. Bassani is one of the only axlebacks actually showing an increase in hp and torque. Others are showing no gains or even losses. Just my opinion stick with the whole bassani set up as they were designed and tested together. Good luck

I love the Flowmasters, the drone is not as terrible as you think it would be, but worth it! The rumble and growl is phenominal and everywhere I go people give me an extra thumbs up just for the flowmasters. Its pretty loud, my neighbors love it too!

Since axle backs are a must for me, Ive searched and listened to alot of vids of all kinds. The bassani's are what I liked the best.

I have to vote Bassani. I had somebody drive my car last weekend so I could hear what it sounded like going down the road. I could hear them turn around and head back from a block or more away! And they stoped in front of me, and then drove away so I could hear it go through the gears. :worship: :worship:

Bassani's make the car sound soooo much better than it should. I get constant compliments. My father tells me everytime I see him how unique my car sounds. One night, he came outside when I was leaving, then remebered I didn't drive the stang, and said "I don't know why I came outside, I can't hear the Mustang." Heck, we passed each other on the road one time, and the way he knew it was me was by the sound of my car.

Sheesh, well I've narrowed it down to:

Bassani x-pipe w/highflow cats + Bassani Axle backs
or
Bassani x-pipe w/highflow cats or Magnaflow x-pipe w/highflows + slp loudmouths
or
Bassani x-pipe w/highflow cats or Magnaflow x-pipe w/highflows + borlas
or
Magnaflow x-pipe w/highflows + Magnapacks

Ok, well I guess thats not really narrowing i down.

I would go all Bassani - they have a set of headers in R&D that should make for some impressive gains when combined with x-pipe, cats & axle back. Check out Justin Burchman's 10 sec car & you see he has an advanced set.

Have you considered Corsa? They have a great sound and no drone.

Yeah I like the Corsa too; however, they aren't cheap.

Any time you have an X-pipe on an 05 you're going to have that high pitched sound no matter what you do axleback. Get a prochamber, punch out the cats, and throw flowmaster mufflers on to get taht american muscle growl.
