Bamachips tune and GTA mufflers

Well I got the 87 Performance tune from Doug in today and man what a difference it makes it is like night and later that night (LOL). But anyway I have a set of FRPP GTA mufflers on the way to me and should be here on 2/21. I can't wait to get them installed.

Mufflers don't add any HP, but they sure do make it sound and feel faster! I know it sounds dumb, but it really does seem faster with a louder exhaust system.

That much of a SOTP with an 87 octane tune? Impressive. Post a vid when you install your GTA's, that would be cool

bztz4m,
You'll love the GTAs --- they get louder as they "season" and no drone. Perfect sound without being obnoxiousy loud.

Let us know how your Performance Tune goes and more importantly, your impressions on how it impacts your performance. I'm in research mode and leaning C&L + Tune.....we'll see. Overall, I've heard the CAI+Tune make a dramatic difference. At least as far as dyno results --data seems to sure show a big difference!

So far with just the tune the difference is wonderful as many people have posted in this forum about Doug's tune. The throttle lag is gooooooonnnnnneee and as hard as it is to believe with just the tune you can feel the car suck you back in your seat when you hit the gas. Now with that said if you add the CAI + tune you should see a great deal more performance than just the tune. I can't wait for the GTA's to come in this week.

You'll love the GTA's as long as you don't add an x-pipe or something down the road.

A lot of guys usually go with C&L or JLT intakes, with tunes from Bamachips, Brenspeed, and Tillmanspeed

Moved to the GT Tech and Performance section.

Glad to hear you like Doug's tune. I have an older Xcal tune (from 2005) and I should be getting the Xcal3 from Doug this week (I think it was shipped on Monday). Can't wait to compare the 2.

If you wanted an updated tune, why not just get the tune and download it on the Xcal2? If you already have an Xcal2 I don't see what you would gain by buying an Xcal3.

Well the GTA's arrived today and I have had them installed tonight but the weather is kinda sucky so I will have to wait to see how they sound. But from the little driving I did I don't hear alot of difference yet. But my son said they sound better from outside than inside the car. But I will wait until I can really take her out when the weather is better.

Just installed FRPP X pipe. Seems to have made the GTA's sound softer. Not as load. Had them on with the Pypes OR-H and they were obnoxious. The X pipe made the car run much smoother. Also notice more torque and pull in the 2000-3500 range. overall love the X pipe and GTA's.....But, May go with FRPP stingers or JBA Evol's.

GTAs are great on the vert. No drone, get better with age. Like the magnaflow my buddy has, but just too loud for inside a vert.
