Hey has anybody else had this happen. When you burn out and keep doing it the car begins to backfire. I was just wondering if anybody else has had this or if its just me and if I need to have something checked out. cuz it doesnt sound bad its just weird when I start burning out or If I take off from a stop light and the tires keep spinning it strts popping. Thanks guys

With traction control off, you can do a "Small" burnout. The computer will pull timing/cut fuel when trying a "Big" burnout. A custom tune can eliminate it. There was an article back in the winter in one of the mags about it.

Knowing Brandon and driving with him I would have to say it is highly un-likely he had his trac-control on... On my car (manual) even before my tune the cpu never pulled timming on a burnout with trac-control off. I would like to check his A/F ratio first, and go from there... Look's like a trip to Silverstate Motorsport's is in order, I would like to tweak on mine a little more anyway.

I have done several burnouts and have had a 16 year old do burn outs at his school and his prom but neither of us has experienced any backfires. With the TCS off I can do a longer burn out and break traction in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, but I have never had any backfire problems.

I'd actually call it more of a cough than a backfire.
