Hey Yao! Just shot ya a return email.....

As far as getting 300 rwhp on an auto, if you want to stay naturally aspirated (no blower or nitrous) you'll probably need:
  1. cai and a good tune
  2. underdrive pullies
  3. Offroad exhaust: longtube headers and offroad mid-pipe
  4. CMRC delete plates
If this holds true, you'd have roughly $2200 in parts, not including labor for install. I have a manual transmission and I'm guestimating this, so maybe an auto owner will chime in for ya soon.

Personally, I just skipped the 300s... Went right to the mid 400s.

i was just thinking about CAI/SCT and axleback FRPP GTA's to start..then get it dyno tuned.

if that can get me to 285 rwhp, i'll be pretty happy....

Yao,

Your hp gains are going to be different depending on what dyno you use. You will be close to those numbers with the above mentioned mods if you use a dynojet dyno. I had lidio's 93 octane tune w/ C&L cai, and flow masters and on a Mustang Dyno My car was 254 rwhp I never had it done on a dynojet, but several people w/ similar mods were showing 280+ on the dynojet. Basically don't be disappointed if your car is dynoed on a Mustang dyno and you get low numbers.

You will need more than just a cai/tune and axlebacks to get you to 285 I think. Probably long tubes, underdrive pullies. If you add the delete plates you get about 290 something. I think they are worth about 8-10 hp from what I remember during the dyno day. Good luck

Not to p1ss in your cornflakes, but my experience at JBA is that they don't dyno auto trans cars correctly. They don't lock the tranny in 4th, so it does the pull in 3rd gear, which skews the results. That's what they did to me and they didn't even know it (I had to tell them). The numbers were simply unrealistic. BTW, I've never spent another dime at JBA since then. I don't think they are all that great (especially after some things I've seen at the track).

I agree. That little spike is the usual converter hiccup at about 5200-5300 rpm, and is not indicative of peak power.

with the new method of measuring HP the 300hp of our stangs is really like 315-320hp of before.

My buddy keeps rubbing in that his E46 M3 is 333hp flywheel. but with the new HP ratings..its probably like 310hp flywheel now...right?

so, i would love to get the stang to 350hp flywheel...which is about 290 rwhp

thanks for all the input so far.....

That A/F chart on the bottom looks off....are you indeed running that lean up thru 4500 rpms?
