Anyone wanna trade 3:55 rear end for a 4:10?

Hey Manual guys out there! I had 4:10 installed in my car around 1000 miles ago and I can't stand it with the automatic. It's nothing with the high end RPM's, I only gained about 200-250 @ 65 mph but rather the gearing inside the automatic transmission. The gear ratio for 2nd gear absolutly blows with 4.10's.

So, here's what I'm offering. SVP Unlimited, where I had the gears installed and the same company that does all of the work on Project Source Horse, has quoted me $400 to swap rear ends with another car. I'll pay for half of the swap, $200 and you pay the other half.

I'll trade someone my 4:10 rear end for their 3:55 rear end within 2000-4000 miles of the same milage. My car has 4100 miles on it and around 1000 on the 4:10's that are in it. The gears are Ford Motorsports and I had a new Pinion bearing installed instead of trying to beat the old one off and onto the new gears. It is quite as a mouse and you are welcome to ride in it before we do the swap to confirm it.

I just want to go back to around the same gear as I had, 3.31 but not exactly that. I think a 3:55-3:73 will do great in an automatic.

So just let me know if you are interested and we'll go from there. BamaChips@gmail.com please put in the subject line Gear swap or trade or something to that nature. Please, feel free to post questions here but be known that I dont get to come here as often as I like as I try to get to my emails before I do anything online. So the best way to reach me is via email.

Thanks, Doug.

I know this is a stupid question but are you planning any trips to the West? I would do the swap myself and the trip here would make the mileage closer to even. I would think people would be lining up for this. Also, have you thought about a taller tire?

Doug,

I'm glad to read your post. You shouldn't have a problem finding someone to do the swap. I value your opinion and you verified what my installer told me about 4.10's in the automatic.......even though there are others on here with auto's that say 4.10's are the only way to go. Thanks again Doug and good luck swapping those out.

whoa i wish i was near you Doug. However I just realized that my mileage on the 3.55's might be a bit off.
