Anyone making 500rwtq on the stock block?
I hope you have another block waiting to go in the car.
I'm running 480rwhp on stock bottom end. So far so good. The week link actually isnt the block, its the rods..Most of the failures i have heard of were due to a rod breaking and going through the block....
The 5.0's used t have better internals and weaker blaocks from what I hear and they have swithced that on us. ford racing recommends not going above the 450-475 hp or trq on the stocke engine. I am interested in building a block when I have the money and making around 700 hp and trq.

There are plenty of guy running the PowerHouse Turbo that are making 500+ rwtq on the stock bottom end.
But for Nitrous, there aren't as many.
MikeM and Cleveland come to mind for people who I believe may be just about or maybe even above 500 rwtq with N2O on the stock bottom end.

mike made 571rwtq 460rwhp.i made 457rwhp-417rwtq today with my non cooled s-trim set up.
I think you'll be safer than most people will say you'll be, considering you're using nitrous instead of a blower. Unless you spray constantly, you should be ok for a while as long as the tune is conservative and you have plenty of fuel. If I remember right one of Brenspeed's test cars was at or above that torque level when they ran a 150 shot on top of all available bolt-ons and cams, and it's held up thru alot of track abuse.
Still though at some point like these guys have said, you'd better save up for pistons and rods; block and crank will probably be ok.

I personally know of two people putting down over 550rwtq with turbo kits on stock blocks. One manual tranny, one auto. Actually, the manual is closer to 600 torque. I am putting down 485rwtq on 10psi with a twinscrew and have been for a while with no issues ( yet... )
I actually do mean torque, not horsepower. These motors love nitrous and make a lot of torque on a decent shot of nitrous. I will hopefully be around 430-440rwhp on a 100 shot and will give me more than 500 ft/lbs.
