A German company (JCD Cars) sells and installs the following drivetrain kit for the S197 Mustangs (as translated from their website):

1. 6-speed Viper gearbox
2. upgraded clutch assembly
3. sport driveshaft

All of this for EUR 7500 (US$ 10000) incl. VAT and installation. Sadly, no other technical/dyno information is provided on their website.

I know it's very expensive by any standards, but I was just curious if anyone heard of it before.

 

D&D has a kit like this also but and I think it's cheaper too. I think I remember hearing that Steeda is coming out with a Viper Spec tranny swap for S197's as well. Doesn't sound like it's going to be a cheap swap by any means. What I'd like to know is can you take an '03-'04 Cobra T56 and swap out the tailshaft of our tranny and put that in our cars.

Hey Louie, I've been to their shop. They're in Gelsenkirchen, just outside of Dusseldorf. About 1 hour from where I live. The black GT with the Vortech has the 6 speed viper tranny in it. It was there when I stopped by. The place is owned by a father and son team. Haven't met the son, but the father seems pretty cool.

I know I didn't answer your question, but just thought it was funny you ran accross this shop.
