I have the plenum cover and I just ordered the GMS bar . Can't wait to start putting them under the hood. The car gets back from the paint shop later this week(road debris in Detroit) and the cast comes off my foot(repaired achilles tendon) next week. I should be readyto go.

The nut/bolt set needed for the 05/6 for the cover are for the throttle body, so they have no bearing on this brace at all.

Keep in mind that this applies to 2007's or 2005-06 that have had the forward TB bolts changed to the stud nuts. Stock hardware must be swapped out to match the 07 configuration with the cover.

I think he was talking about the STB and your talking about the plenum cover, not the same. mitch e

That is not true - our part work with all the stock bolts

My comment was directed toward the linked instruction file. It was showing how to move the plenum cover to the "below the bolt" configuration....The document said it applied to 05-07's. Just want to point out that the 05-06 TB hardware has to be altered to get to step one of the instructions.

Then the instructions are confusing adn I will fix them. Everything is a direct bolt on. I assume you are assuming that someone with a 05-06 car will try to install an 07 plenum cover.

Note in these pictures that it works perfect

these are factory bolts holding the t-body and they are long enough to go through the 07 cover and into the upper plenum to capture the t-body at the same time

JR,
The plenum cover pictured is not the Ford 07 cover, it's the Mid West cover.

I didn't mean to confuse this subject. The question some posts above ask about the 07 Ford cover on an 06, with your STB. You provided a link to instructions to move the fuel rail studs on an 07 with Ford cover to lower it so the STB won't rub (since the Ford Cover installed on an 07 stits higher for some reason).

I wanted to let the poster know that to use a Ford cover on an 06, the TB bolts need to be replaced by stud nuts to match the 07 configuration.

The STB on an 06 with Ford Cover seems to have enough clearance, but i'm sure doing the 07 cover mod would provide a little more, if you wanted it.

I have an 05 GT

Just put mine on my 06 and the center rib of the cover does touch the STB. I am going to do the fuel rail stud fix tomorrow. That looks like it should give plenty of clearance between the cover and the STB

The fuel rail fix does work, just dont drive the car with it rubbing like I did, take it off until you get a chance to do the studs, or it will rub the paint off the cover like mine

My new STB arrived today, damaged! During transit, the bar poked through each end of the box. UPS must have been really rough to bend the flange on one of the ends. Now waiting for UPS to pickup the damaged package, supposedly tomorrow. Granatelli will ship a new one once the pickup is confirmed by UPS.

I was not impressed by the Granatelli packaging. Mine came in 2 boxes that had been cobbled together. Nothing bent, but the brace had worn through the plastic bag inside on the ends.
Hey, they only charged me twice the shipping anyone else was asking. Oh yeah, and $53 more for the brace than anyone who order 2 weeks later.

The fuel rail fix worked out great, gave me more clearance than I thought it would. The only problem was getting the studs through the rear grommets of the cover, but they did barely fit. Not a bad deal for 50 bucks.

Is the problem with the studs width or length?

Sorry to hear about the shipping issues. They sent mine, and it went coast-to-coast, as I live in SE PA. The bar was wrapped in plastic bubble wrap, and it held up nice. If it was dinged at all, just give them a call, or ask Joe on here. I'm sure he would help.
