I know several of you have gone the way of the Whipple, but has anyone put a Whipple on an automatic yet????????? Now that I'm keeping my car it is on my to do list again. Won't be anytime real soon, but I'd still like to talk to someone who has done this mod to find out if it's gonna be worth the money.

Oh yeah. It would be worth the money. Don't quote me on this but I thought Whipple had NOT come out with the auto trans version yet.

let me clarify since i have been fighting with the whipple reps for a while now, Whipple DOES make the SC for autos but they will only tune the 8psi kits, if you want a 10psi kit then you will have to get it tuned by someone else, such as brenspeed or bamachips, and must be done on a dyno by them (custom tune basicly) BECAUSE whipple says they will not mess with automatic because they claim it can only handle 400RWHP and the driveshaft can only handle 450RWHP below the tested 480+RWHP the 10psi kit makes, so if you want one you can get one but they will not tune your ECM for you unless you have the 8psi kit, even Lethal Performance will subtract the tuner from the price of the 10psi kit if you are buying it for an automatic

Thanks Ira. I had pretty much been told that same thing from Lethal and Whipple, I was just wondering what the gains were. So far nobody can give me any answers as to the gains in an auto.

The Tremec TR-3650 is only rated for 360 ft-lb by Tremec. With the 5R55S's synchronous shifting for 3rd and 4th gear, I'd expect a lower torque handling capability with the automatic!
BTW, with a 15% drivetrain loss, 450 rwhp - 475 rwhp, that's 560 - 580 hp at the crank.

OKLACOP, I had my car at lidio's shop yesterday to put in the frpp cmcv and a custom tune and he told me he sold his 05 and put in an order for an 07 auto and as soon as he gets it, he is going to put the whipple on it. So you might want to check out his sight in the coming weeks.

Meijer is sort of like a Super Wal-Mart, except the prices aren't always the best. They were planning to build one across from Lidio's area on the other side of M-97 / Groesbeck.

I have no idea.......I didn't even know what it was. Anyway....I just want to hear from someone who has put a whipple on their auto. so I can determine if the gains are gonna be worth the money. Sure wish someone would take the plunge.
