It states it works with the s-2300 brake kit , I am assuming it wont work with the stock brakes ???????

 

I have a very strong suspicion that the reason the S197 front brakes tend to get extremely hot/fade during hard braking is because the stock dust shields prevent/reduce the air flowing into the center of the rotors. Most heavy-duty and performance cars do NOT have brake dust shields. They don't really serve a purpose from experience.

I plan to yank my dust shields when it comes time to change to Hawk HPS pads.

 

Yep. That's the first thing to do before hitting the track. Ducts are still pretty much required, though...
