Aftermarket Suspension question
I am looknig at purchasing the BMR Tubular lower control arms to help with the wheel hop. I was wondering if i need the Upper control arms or the panhard bar as well. if anyone can explain to me what i should do i would appreciate it.
Thanks

The LCA's on their own will help immensely with the wheelhop but won't necessarily completely eliminate it.
The UCA will further curtail wheel hop. If adjustable, allows for setting the pinion angle. The pinion angle can also be set via adjustable LCAs.
I prefer both to be adjustable so I can keep the axle centered (front/rear) in the wheelwell.
I don't believe the panhard has any effect on wheelhop. The only reason for an aftermarket panhard would be to help stiffen the rear suspension for better handling and, if adjustable, to center the rear axle between left and right sides of the car.
Hope that helps!

If we are running a non juice, non supercharger car, will not LCA's be enought? I know adjusting the pinion angle will help, but is it really necessary or take it one step at a time.
BTW Can anyone show me a site for info on "tuning a suspension" for HP. I am back into this after my heyday of the 70's with a 68 mustang.
The most we did was add a set of traction bars to the rear end and let it go. we were to busy changing out cams, intake/carbs set ups. If really ambitious....head swap.

With the Steeda LCAs I didn't have any wheel hop at the track, just sometimes breaking loose on wet roads. Not as severe or as often as with the stockers. Try just the LCAs and see if that does it for you.

[/b][/quote]You don't actually need them...only if you want to change the angle of the LCAs, which you might want to do if you've lowered the car, or if you're drag racing and want to play around with the "instant center" and squat characteristics, etc.

Raising the instance center will reduce squat and MAY impact wheel hop. Heavier duty shocks will help with wheel hop as well. Pinion angle tuning migh help , but I thank that has nore of an effect on deliverable rear wheel torque. Best to do one thing at a time and gage the improvement or not.
If you want to find some interesting reading do a google search on 'roll center', 'roll stifness', etc. There are a lot of good articles out there. Some better than others, but all usually some some better information about different aspects.
Attached is one of serveral articles I downloaded.
