After Market Brake Pads
After browing through hundreds of posts. I know most of you are running the Hawk HPS pads. Within the next couple of weeks I'll be doing a minor upgrade to my brakes(Rotors, pads, lines, fluid).
There any particular reason why the HPS pads are so popular here? Whats the difference between the CentricPosi Quites and the Hawk HPS pads besides the obvious price difference? Is one going to give me noticable braking difference for normal street driving? I should also mention I dont want noise to be an issue.
I'm sure theres other with similar concerns. Thanks in advance

I personally will never buy HAWK pads again. I ran them on my F150 and they did nothing but make tons of noise and leave lots of dust. So i went with another less aggressive set and the exact same results.
Look into the Akebono Ceramic pads they are very nice and have gotten nothing but rave reviews.
The Centric Posi Quits are also suppose to be a very nice pad.

Unlike Graypny, my HPS pads create a lot of dust. I'd say it's because of my cross drilled/slotted rotors, but we're both running the same ones. Could be driving style, I don't know. On my car the HPSs also start squealing here and there. It's doing it now and then it will go away. I'm running EBC Greenstuff on my wife's Stratus R/T with dimpled/slotted rotors and they stop the car great and create very little dust. I think I'm going to try the EBC pads next time.

LOL...And don't forget the side roads with no speed limits. I guess going back and forth from 140 to 90 and then back up will put a bit of thrashing on pads, huh?

Man, traffic on the autobahn's is bad. You can get cruising at 130 - 140 for awhile and then your down to 80 - 90 'cause of freaking 18 wheelers or slow drivers. Then back up. Let's just not get into what that does for MPG on the highway. Not that I care, I'm happy at my 14 city/17 hwy mpg.

Hawk performance sells different type of pads some are more aggressive and meant for the track and have more brake dust and noise than others. Whereas their ceramic pads meant for the street have low brake dust.

Brake pads are like motor oil. Everyone has their favorites. Pick the pad that best suits your driving style. I have Hawk HPS pads on my car and love them. Even after a day at the track, the dust is minimal. On the other hand, I put EBC Red Stuff pads on my Charger, and they're terrible. I put them on right before we went on vacation, and even doing mostly highway driving, I had to wash the wheels every day because they were black.
Hawk HPS pads, DOT 4 fluid, SS brake lines, and you're good to go. I run that combination, along with the stock rotors, at the track and have no issues. Speaking of rotors, unless you want the slotted/drilled rotors just for looks, save your money. They don't offer any increase in braking performance on the street.

Is anybody else curious about the performance of the new brake pads that are supposed to come on the '08 Bullitt? They are supposed to be 'better' than the stock pads, but how much better and will they be cost effective?
