Advice on how to build my engine?
All,
I would like to keep my Mustang for as long as possible. I seem to suffer from a disease where I want the newest, baddest toy on the block. In other words, there will always be a car out there with more power, less weight, etc, that I would want. However, my Mustang is AWESOME. It is such a capable car.
Anyways, as my car gets older, I don't want fall behind in performance as technology advances. In order to offset this, I would like to build my motor, and install some sort of F/I application. If I can somehow reach about 500 rwhp reliably with the capability of increasing it as time goes on, I would like to do that.
I know our 4.6L block is capable up to about 700 rwhp which in my opinion, is more than enough.
I was wondering if some of you horsepower nuts would chime in and maybe give me some advice on some components and vendors that sell these pieces. Opinions on components quality is strongly wanted.
Thanks!
P.S. I'm not sure if I want a turbo or an S/C for sure, but I LOVE the 2.8h Kenne Belle blower.

Just use a Livernois or MMR shortblock (or longblock) specs as a shopping list. Either will get you 500 rwhp and beyond.
MMR = NO
FWIW, unless you plan on running drag radials on the street, anything over 450-500rwhp is kind of a waste. Unless you like spinning the tires...
From my understanding, MMR has has some quality issues leave their shop. Specifics, I don't know, but I believe it's their workmanship that's in question, not the parts (as they use name brand parts for the most part).
I do believe that the internet forums do tend to jump on certain band wagons whether they be for praise or hate, so it's best to do the research yourself and make your own decision.
I went with MMR for 2 reasons, they are somewhat local and was able to pick up my motor directly from them, and they came recommended by Brenspeed.
