I did a search, but couldn't find this question answered.

Right now, I have Steeda Ultra-Lite springs with the stock struts and shocks. The ride quality is very close to stock, but it is a little "busy". I don't want to add adjustable Tokico D-Specs because I would mess with them to no end (plus the cost).

I know the stock struts/shocks aren't designed to work with a lowered vehicle, so how will this kit make the ride feel?

Will it add to the comfort of the ride? Or will it make the ride stiffer than it is now?

From what I've been told the FRPP dampers were designed to work on lowered cars so they ought to work just file with your Steeda springs...

I just purchased a set for my car and will be installing them next week!

I just put them on mine, actually the whole FRPP kit, I really don't think they are to stiff of a ride, especially for a lowered car with low profile tires. It's really a matter of opinion though. I think you would like them though.

I have their damper kit as well with my eibach springs....the combo works very well together...you will like it!

I just didn't want to go the opposite way and stiffen the ride.

So, is it safe to say they are more "comfort tuned" and not "performance tuned"?

Hmm...Im thinking about getting a set of these to compliment the Eibachs. Will they lower the ride height at all?

Tom, I believe they are both great comfort and performance tuned. The normal ride on the street while a little stiffer than stock is actually pretty good for a lowered car. Also when going through the twisties they perform way better than stock. You'll like them.

Matt - the struts/shocks won't lower the ride height at all, if that's what you mean.

Martimus - let me know how they change your Eibach Pro ride feel from before to after!

subzero05 - did you put the FRPP struts/shocks on at the same time as the Eibachs? If not, how did it feel before and after?

Steve - right now with the Ultra-Lites, the ride is a little more bumpy (or busy as some put it) with the stock struts/shocks. I know the FRPP struts/shocks are designed for lowered vehicles - I just want to make sure they don't add to the stiffness. If they smooth out the ride even a little - that's what I'm after.

I also have the Steeda Ultralites, and I agree that they have made the ride "busier". The stock shocks are not working at all with them- When I hit an uneven strip in the road, the tires actually lose contact with the road momentarily- not really great when it happens in corners.... the shocks are obviously operating in an area where the compression and rebound is really tight. After driving with this set-up for a few thousand miles, I have changed my mind about it- it stinks on anything but perfectly smooth roads.

I need to get some shocks that will dampen the ride properly, and keep the tires in contact with the road.

There must be somebody out there you lowered the car, and then bought struts/shocks later on, who made an observation on ride quality...?

I was going to call Ford Racing last week, but forgot. I'll call them tomorrow and post here what they say. I haven't ordered them yet, because I want to make 100% sure that they won't stiffen the ride.

Also, another thing I want to ask:

Are the top spindle bolt holes elongated for camber adjustment? If not elongated, are they in the same/different place as the stock struts.

No, the bolt holes are not elongated and are in the same location as factory. Instructions and bolts are included to elongate the holes yourself.

IMO the ride was stiffened with the FRPP dampers. I also noticed when compressed side by side the FRPP dampers would return to normal just a bit quicker than the factory ones.

they are definately stiffer than stock. still streetable but you will feel every inch of the road, be it pot holes or bumps and such. if you like a comfort ride stick with stock or get the tokiko adjustable ones

The point would be flatter handling and less bottoming out.
