45$ cai mod

For poeple like me who run on a tight budget.

A good ---free--- or 45 bucks mod is to take the stock airbox and open it up. By that i meen cutting or gutting the whole underside of the filter box and putting in a K&n rectangular like original.

Opens up the surface area of the filter and a whole lot more air comes in! The little buffer correction for more fuel the computer has should compensate or if you have a diablo or sct put custom tune +1% on fuel table. Worked wonders for me.

Is the filter completely sealed to the upper part of the box...?

I did that before going to a CAI. I had seen where it had been done with the E-Force SC.

I did something similar to make it work with my aftermarket hood - I cut the bottom off and flipped the whole thing over. See link:

That looked like a good idea. All that needs to be done whit that now is to smooth out the air flow with a mutated cai tube.

Lot's of good ideas and ingenuity. I'm shure a lot more homemade mods can or have been done by wise enthousiasts everywhere!
