4.10s and SCT flash= WOW

Just had the gears and tune uploaded at Steen Racing...its like a different car!! If anyone lives in the Hampton Roads area in VA and would like the SCT tune, I worked with a guy named Ed Clark. He stopped by the shop where I had the gears installed and took care of me. actually worked with Steeda recalibrating the Screaming yellow Q, so he is very knowledgable and took the time to show me all the differences the tune made compared to the factory program. I have ordered C&L' s new CAI and was originally going to go with the predator, but it seems it will still be awhile before the predator is available to be shipped with their kit. I decided for them to just send out the CAI w/out the predator b/c Ed said he would have no problem retuning it for the intake system. Vegasjay, if you are reading this, Lee at C&L thought i was you calling from Vegas to check up on the shipping dates. They shipped out the CAI today and I am going to have it dyno tuned with Ed next week with CAI,pullies, charge motion plates, and MAC axle back. I will post up some numbers as soon as I get them

I don't know if its been posted or not, for those that have switched to the 4:10 gears, what are your city/highway gas mileages. Just wondering how much the gears would hurt the gas mileage.

BTW: Nice Mod's! I also can't wait to wake my pony up! I'm starting to consider 4:10's now. Everybody seem's to be likeing them real well. I'm sure it's been posted, but what's the RPM's at 80 mph? Thank's for the head's up.

Hey Dennis, did they say when the Predators were gonna arrive? I haven't had time to call them. I was hopeing my kit already shipped... :bang:

Vegasjay check your pm...as far as the rpm at 80 it was around 2700 and to be honest, in a 5spd 4.10s will get better with lower profile tires. The stock tires I think rob some of the gears acceleration potential so if running 55s I would go with 4.30s. Driving around town and accelrating around traffic is a blast!! i didn't want to come home...

I'll keep track for you the next couple of tanks but I don't expect it to be that big of deal...

Denis, Where is Steen Racing at? Does Ed work there? Once I get a build date I'm gonna order the MMR intake, SCT tuner and pullies, it comes as a package. I was gonna start looking around for a speed shop next week. Let me know what you know!! What were the costs for everything?

Is your SCT tune for 87 octane still, or is it tuned for 91 (or 93)?

Ed put two tunes on the programmer....One for 87 and the second for 93. I had a full tank of 87 at the time so I uploaded that one for now. The next tank I will fill up with premium and use the other tune to see if it is really worth the extra loot.

By the way, he(Jason at Steen) has a three valve head he ordered from Ford that will begin to get valve work and porting and polishing on his bench flow!! Can't wait to see results...

Thanks Denis, I know where it is. I used to buy my 73 Mach 1 parts there. Maybe I'll pop in there and see what they will charge for all the stuff. I'm gonna put it all on myself, but I would like to dyno it and get it tweeked in individually instead of a generic tune. Pull as much as I can with it. We'll have to get together and check all the toys out. Thanks!

[/b][/quote]I ordered from JMS the same dudes that did my SCT tune. I think with the speed gov. removed we should be able to get real close to 150. Good question.
