For those of you with 4.10 gears. What RPM are you at running at about 75mph or so? Im debating gears but i do do highway driving as well and i dont want to put uneeded strain on the engine. Thanks for your replies

There used to be a n excel sheet with the breakdown but i cant seem to find it on the search function anymore.

I would guess that 75 is roughly 2800 rpm.

Forumla:
RPM -> speed

RPM / 60 / TransGear / RearGear * (WheelDiam * pi/12) * 15/22 = MPH

Speed -> RPM

MPH * 22/15 * 60 * RearGear * TransGear / (WheelDiam * pi/12) = RPM

... Even better [change the red to whatever you wnt, I have 3 charts on the sheet]

thanks enfynet and Don_w for the charts. are there any downsides to running the higher rpms constantly. this may very well end up being my daily driver and i dont want to do harm to the engine

Ron: Next time we all meet up I'll take you for a ride in mine!! 4.10's are fine for the street or highway as long as you you're not driving over 100+ mph on the highway.

I got my 4.10's installed 2 weeks ago on monday, and I drive mostly highway. I am just finding myself driving a bit slower, to keep the RPM's down, but when you get on it now they are a blast!! I do wish that I had gone with the 4.30's now, but Don't want to spend another 600 bucks for another swap. Also the install was done perfect (minus the loose panhard rod bolt) The noise that I had from the Factory gears, that I was told by the Service guy at Ford, was normal, is now gone with the new gears.
