Secret info, we'd love to share but we can't...well, then again that is because we really don't know. The best info I have is that the offset is still 45mm because they are only an 18x8 rim.

Are these the wheels shown on the picture? Because they look like they stick out more than the 17" wheels
Are we sure they are 18x8s? They are putting 255/45/18s on them, and I think that is beyond the recommended size for those rims. In my experience, car manufacturers are very careful about not putting oversized tires on. Also, when I ordered, my dealer told me that the reason they would not have the 18s was b/c of safety issues that were brought up by the federal governtment (whichever agency checks those kinds of things)....that could be what he is talking about if indeed they are 18x8s.
I posted this somewhere else, but this is what I found on the BFGoodrich site: Enthusiasts purchasing the new 2006 Ford Mustang GT coupe and convertible can select 18-inch BFGoodrich g-Force T/A®KDW tires
Unfortunately, it doesn't say anything about rim width...
Although it is stated that the rims are "larger":
But the rims pictured are definitely either wider or have a different offset, or both...

When selecting the new upgrade, customers will receive an entirely new look including larger wheels and g-Force T/A KDW tires (size: 255/45R18)
chrome wheels is a thing of the past..... they're going to be either hi-polished aluminum, or painted finish... in the pics, they look like hi-polish. .... but the inset on the spokes may be painted grey or whatever... possibly 2 different options.

chrome is how you make steel shiney.... I don't know that chrome finishes stick too well to aluminum. Steel wheels would increase the unsrpung weight, greatly, and would dog the performance numbers. It's inefficient unless you're using stamped steel for spare doughnuts or cheapies with hub caps.
I'll bet the left nut that they're polished aluminum.

A good wheel will not peel its chrome.
Chrome is a lot easier to keep clean.
Polished needs more attention or it will corrode.
Polished can be buffed out if surface is damaged.
All that being said, I can't wait to get 18X9 deep dish Bullitt's.

I wonder if the FR500 18X10s will be deep dish.... It'd have to be I suppose if they are going to clear the sway bar and other hardware when turning.... but I like these best FR500.... the grey ones. They don't have a pic of the 18x10, but yeah.... I'm all about 'em... when I get my car, anyways.
If I couldn't have these, I'd be all over the deep dish bullits... they just look too cool. Can't say that I'd go with chrome, though.... I like the grey ones the best.... like the old AR Torque Thrust D

The 18" rims were 18x9 BTW.
Hopefully that's what we'll get......hope this will mean I can put 275's on if I so desire.

Well, the 17" wheel is 8" wide and the 18" is 9" wide.
So even though they have the same offset, their backspacing is different because of the extra inch in width from the 18X9's. So they will stick out a bit more than the 17's.
The 45mm offset was designed for a 9" wide rim, so people who use 45mm on rims narrower than 9 will have rims that look sunken inside the wells.
