2005 Mustang Tires in Mexico I need help!

Hello... this is my very first post in here... im part of the mustang club of guadalajara, down in sunny mexico... well first let me thank all of you guys for taking some time reading my topic... now i need your help... the 2005 ford mustang comes stock with Pirelli P Zero Nero 235/55 r17... ive had mine since 9 months ago and i have near 30,000 kms... thats about 18,000 miles i think... anyway i need some new rubbers on and pirelli tires are way to expensive in here... like $18,000 pesos... thats like $1,600 usd... anyway... i was think on gettin wider tires... so they are offering me this 255/40 r17 on the front and 275/40 r17 on the back... the tire is a maxxis ma-v1... what do you guys up there think about it?... any experiences with maxxis????... ive measured the car and tires and they will fit no problem... the money for those tires is like $8,000 pesos... thats like $700 usd... does anyone have some ideas i could use?... thanks in advance and i hope to hear from you guys soon...

LOL, THANKS!!

If your still using the stock rims 275s are probably too wide for 8inch rims. I think 255s are as wide as is recommended.

Those tires will also be shorter than your stock ones. You should either stick with the stock size 235/55/17 or if you want to go wider, 255/50/17. Those are pretty much your only options for the stock rims.

I agree that 275's are too wide for an 8" wheel. When I had my Nitto 450 275/50-17s installed, the bozos at the tire store mounted them on the stock 17x8 wheels, instead of my new 17x9 Bullitts. The bead was pulled way in, and looked stupid (and unsafe!).
