From SHM's website:

2005 Mustang GT Tuning
[attachmentid=20355][attachmentid=20356]

380hp/400lb/ft torque - Naturally Aspirated

SHM Ported Cylinder Heads
JBA Long Tube Headers
JBA H pipe with Cats
JBA Mufflers
SHM Underdrive Pulley Kit
Steeda Cold Air Kit
C&L Inlet Ducting
SHM Tuning

Call for details on packages or individual products.

I called them but couldn't get any details yet on the Ported Cylinder Heads

Looks like they should be good for about 50-60 HP?

Thats pretty cool thanks for the link. I hadnt seent hat before.

The sean hyland stuff is nice but if he follows his past pricing its just not worth it. He has always been so darn expensive for what you get. If he can make this kit affordable then it would be great though.

The SHM N/A performance is looking sweet. I am sure that hp/tq listing is at the crank. Not bad though. Approx 323rwhp/340rwtq is a very nice combo for the street. No pricing on their site that I could find. I like the tire/wheel package they have listed as well. Unsure if $2K is a good price for that combo. Anyone?

If you are going to make the engine breath that much better, then bigger cams would be in order. Think about it. They already have your heads off! Lingerfelter knew that if you are careful with overlap between intake & exaust cam lobes, emissions were not a problem. Intake+Heads+Cams+Headers...now THAT'S a package!

169Stang is within a few hp of those numbers, and I'd be willing to bet he did it for a whole lot cheaper than what SHM wants for the set up

Apparently SHM charges a pretty penny for their modifications.

As far as performance mods go, I've got about $2925 in parts, about $150 for tune and dyno, $1000 for labor on misc. part. $700 of that 1000 was for the headers and exhaust. I had my mechanic install it since he had it for the differential. So, roughly, $4075 for 313rwhp. Yes, you could spend $5000 for 400-440 hp, then labor on the install (if it was too much for a weekend job). We'll say another $300 for gears, installed. Non-perf. I have $2828 in parts; Auburn Pro diff-$500, LCA's, upper third link, line locks, short shifter, RAM clutch. Roughly $1900 labor-clutch and diff were the majority of this.
Wow, I shouldn't have done this to myself. That hurt to see all this.

Hmmm, if it's 380 only at the crank, and the estimated net rear wheel is only 323, then I'm not overly impressed any more. But 45 RWHP for port & polish is nice, depending on the price! I was thinking those were rear wheel numbers.
If stock loses about 35 (?) between crank and rear wheel, would you expect a 57 hp loss on their vehicle? I'd expect to see closer to 340 rwhp if the crank is 380...
169stang, I'm afraid to start adding up my number$! All I know is my $aving$ account is nearly empty!!

It's not at the crank... it's at the wheels. I myself have 360HP at the crank/ 310HP at the wheels and I don't have ported heads (+45HP). Their car also has longtube headers, JBA H-pipe and a better intake. With all that and the right tune, 380HP at the rear wheels sounds possible.

Edit: Plus, it's a stick and mine is an auto.

SHM would get 140hp/150tq from those mods? Maybe or maybe not. The web site does not specifically state "rear wheel or crank." If rear wheel then at the crank is approx over 440hp and 470tq? If so that would be a fun car to drive daily.

Maybe I will give them a call next week to get more info.

All that stuff from SHM will probably cost you $10K or more. Buy a KB or Whipple for $5K and be done with it.

I would tend to think that if it is rwhp then they would have denoted with rwhp, not hp. As devil's advocate, I would hate to have ported heads and not be at 380 rwhp.

I couldn't have said that better myself.

And if that's 380 HP at the crank, I'm not impressed at all. I could practically have that just by adding some longtube headers and a nice offroad mid-pipe. If ported heads will add 45 HP though, I'd be real interested in getting that done.

"...basic porting service, we grind out air restrictions left by the casting step, leaving a satin finish, then match ports to manifolds..."
