I've been building a spread sheet with every 1/4 mile time I've seen. Seem like a pattern is developing.

2 Autos ran: 13.6@99.9 and 13.61@99.9
5 manuals ran: 13.8@102, 13.81@102.11, 13.9@101.4, 13.94@101.41, 14.2@102.

Seems like autos are quicker in 1/4 mile but have slower trap speeds, while manual run slower with higher speeds (101-102mph)

Good job AFBlue So far it is close to what I expected (auto vs. manual). Because of it's gearing, I thought the auto would be quicker through the eighth but I did expect the manual to catch the auto before the quarter.

The do show whether they are auto or manual. Click on the 1/4 mile time and then scroll down and you will see the tranny on the lower right on the slip

Yes, it would be nice to see it with the distance times....

I bet the M5's are having traction problems, My 02 ran a best of 14 flat @ 99 mph and the fastest bone stock 2v GT I've heard of ran a 13.6 or 13.7, cant remeber the trap speeds though??? So I suspect given the added weight of the 05 once people start to punish them they ought to be like 13.2 to 13.5 cars with a few freaks in there.

The 13.61 is from Motortrend. Check in the left lower corner of the page and you will see a 0-100 in 13.7 which is identical to MT data. 0-100 are not available at the tracks.

The 13.81 is posted by the same person, this time from C&D. He also posted the 0-60, 0-100 and 0-130 times which are identical to C&D data( Left lower corner).

That's the reason we don't see 60ft, 1/8's time/trapspeed and drivers name on those two runs.

So, the question is: are the stoplights in your area closer together than 1/4 mile or farther away? And is the auto worth $800 extra?

They are not having traction problems. The new suspension is hooking up great !
UPR in the west palm beach also took there GT 05 at moroso. They ran a 13.7 @ 98.7 with a 1.89 60ft.

Look at the 60ft times .. . . 1.89 and 1.93 are stellars #s. :worship:

I made a post over in the GT Performance forum. We should probably request that this thread be moved and keep our performance threads over there. I would hate for this thread to get lost in the endless threads about X-plans and IUPS.

Here's the UPR car data and another guy. These times back up the other data. The 60' times are insanely good for street tires 1.89 and 1.93's. They mention the cars are bogging.

I think the time variation for the auto vs manual is due mostly to shifting abilities of the driver. Most drivers are afraid - and for GOOD reason - to drive/shift a brand new manual trannied car like it needs to be; like it was STOLEN. Powershifting and missing a gear is not something ANYone want to happen, let alone to your brand new car!

So, with the Auto cars being essentially a "point and shoot" kind of driving, I'm not at all surprised to see them pulling in the initial lower e.t.'s. I do think that as time goes by, we'll some excellent times for the manual cars too, probably bettering the auto's times.

yeah, the manuals should get a few 10's quicker. but not much 2nd and 3rd gear are higher in the Auto than in the manual. that deiniitely helps. and never met a person that could shift a 5spd as quick as an auto tranny could

Since there is no other data in the ATX 1/4 posting (no 60', 1/8, driver, etc) we should assume that this is just someone posting the M/T 1/4 ATX time and is not at 2nd identical ATX time.

Happy with my auto for sure and the SCT tune to set the shift points up and over the 6000 redline should make it even better. Car pulls hard well into the 6500 range so we'll see what improvements that makes....

Hey AFblue I love the Bruce Dickenson picture. That was one of the best SNL sketches ever. I guess AFBlue is for the Air Force are you still in? I'm stationed in Guam right now and am getting ready to head to Cannon AFB, where I will be picking up my GT. Sorry for posting this here but that picture made me laugh.
