18x9 offset / backspacing too large?
I've been running ASA AR1s for a while now: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand
The problem I've had is that I've always had some rubbing on the front, mostly when turning right while the car is moving. I have 18x9s all around with 255/40s in the front.
I was glancing at wheel specs and comparing them to other wheels from AmericanMuscle, and noticed the offset and backspacing on the ASA AR1 are a bit larger than any other 18x9 wheel I could find:

This is what I am running in the front, no rubbing with 255/45-18's on the front. Hope this answers you offset and backspace question. These wheels are designed for the 05-09 Stang, looks like your backspacing / offset is wrong for our cars.

Yeah it looks like the offset is perfect for the rear of the car, but the S197 does not like the large offset for the front unless you are willing to get rid of your splash guards which is not good on a street car. Anything between a 30 and 40mm should be ok but beyond that is a rear offset.
