Here's a video of a 13.20 run. As the day went on, my 3rd gear syncro's got worse. I couldn't get it into third without a little grind. The new tranny will be here Friday. It was sooo hot yesterday. I'm not a leaker and I was just dripping with sweat standing around. Where I usually launch at about 6000 rpm's, I couldn't launch at more than 4500 without spinning the tires. The other 05 had a C&L intake, Diablo tune, some sort of axleback, and 4.10 gears.

How long will take for you to get your Stang back.
Looking forward to seeing your next run with the new tranny.
New results .

I am still learning about the video thing. I posted a link and had to go back until I got it to work.

I won't be taking it in until they have the tranny sitting there at their shop. The car sat there for 3 weeks waiting on the syncro kit to arrive. It, occassionally, would slightly grind going into 3rd. The service manager told me to beat up the tranny if I wanted. I was nervous that I could mess up the motor bearings by blowing the tranny. I did beat on it, but didn't powershift it at all. I'd rather have 3rd gear for the next week. I have a few other changes to make as well. Pinion angle, water pump, wheels and tires, and messing around with the shocks.

The brake fluid was overflowing a little out of the resevoir. I'm not sure if it's due to the weather/heat, or the headers. It's never overflowed before. Then again, I must have made 20 runs yesterday. I did 3 back to back runs and the times just got worse with each run. I wish I had my pump installed!

David,

You car sounds awsome. Are you running at Moroso Motorsports Park - West Palm Beach? I've haven't been to a dragstrip in a very long time. I used to take my car to Miami-Hollywood Speedway, maybe 25 yrs ago. Before I get too old, I'd like to take my car to Moroso. Maybe when it starts getting cooler and after I change to a 4.10 in the rear. Then I'd be equivalent to the black 05 in your video. Do they require you wear a helmet thesedays?

only if you run faster than 14 sec. The track is horrible at these temps. One guy was telling me that the VHT (or whatever that tacky spray is they put on the track) only makes the rubber more gummy when it's this hot. I'm not sure if he was full of it and it was just an excuse not to spray it or if it was the truth.

David, that video is sweet, your car launches hard and I am officially jealous. How are you getting those vids on the net. I have some video of Chalon at NMRA in Kansas City
Thanks,
Derek

Pm sixtysix (Tony) on here on his website... http://2005stang.com/ It's his website. He can set you up a FTP account. He hooked me up. It's taking me some getting used too as far as posting them, but I'm managing. It may take a few days to get the FTP up and running. You can email me the vids and I will give you a link to post where ever if you want.

Nice run Dave!

Hey. Know you said you're kinda new at the video thing. Just a suggestion that might make the hosting of them a little easier. Check out a program called Blaze Media Pro. It is a conversion program. You can pretty much take any video format and convert it to any other format. I had a 8mb AVI file that I took of my car when I installed the pipes and using that program I was able to convert it to a wmv file that was only about 500k. Made hosting it and people viewing it much easier. Don't get me wrong, the size of your video was no big deal to download. Just helps out on your storage space and also on people with slower connections.

Again, nice run. That launch is awsome.

$50. I don't know if I would get my monies worth out of that. I guess I just don't know enough about what I could do with it. I would like a way to make a video of a series of runs. I don't know if that program will allow me to do that. I can get around the computer, but when it comes to that kind of stuff-
My video's are usually wmv, but for some reason, that one came out in mpg. I don't have a clue why. Same camera, same FTP account.

Derek, where's that video?

I love the exhaust. It's kindof funny at the track. After I run, a few people always come up to the car wanting to hear the exhaust. The entire exhaust is Stainless Works. The only thing I'd do different is having the exhaust coated.

David, I am looking at having by best friend from college host it on his website, he is a CIS graduate and loves to do that kind of crap for free. Patience is a virtue.
