If you want to go fast, best way is to start with a fast car. Boss, cobra, Shelby. Lots of money and work with any less of a car. 11's are achievable with a GT no doubt but it's just a lot more work.

In retrospect I would have like to have bought a Terminator. Spend more money to begin with but less later. All comes out in the wash I suppose. Been thinking about doing a swap once she's paid off.

I hear ya. That 197 body hooks up so much better though. The forged internals is almost a must when you're looking for big power though. The coyote and the GT 3V are only as strong as their bottom end. That's the big problem.

Yea no doubt. That's why I'm debating between a new forged rotating mass and a cobra motor (either a gt500 or terminator). I gotta talk to Jake when I get dynoed.

A trailer is a good supporting mod to get yourself home after those drivetrain components go

Pickup a used supercharger kit and couple that to a 4.6 3V. KB BAP, 8 rib belt conversion, HT0 spark plugs, CAI, smallest blower pulley, good clutch, custom tune, lower LCA and relocation kit, UCA, 275's or bigger tires and sometime behind the wheel.

I race against a good friend who has a 2007=GT. He runs high 11s low 12s with his 3v.
He has Ford Racing cams, kooks Black Lung intake, 4.30s, ported heads, Kooks Headers, 1 piece driveshaft, skinnies up front, UPR K member, and a 2 step MSD..
I am sure there's more. No weight deduction, stock 5 speed, upper, lower control arms. Etc etc

Does he still get 25mpg with a 4.30 gear? First gear must be pretty useless. His mods are way more costly then what i suggested. Not replacing the rear controls arms with that low of a gear and any power isn't too smart. Not only will it bunny hop and destroy the rear-end clutches, bearings and stress the axle shafts. It'll fish tail and not be predictable on it's launch. I did that crap with my car for two years. It's amazing what a correct rear suspension will do for you.

Saleen blower kit with M&H 325 drag radials, that worked for me. 11.7s at 119 mph.

You can get 11s NA with the usual bolt ons, proper suspension, and seat time.
