104 Octane Question? Doug ?
Well I just recieved my SCT X2 from doug at bamachips. I forgot it was coming and now all I have is a full tank of 87 octane. Does anyone know if the octane adder 104 will do the job to run his 93 octane tune. Wondering how much to put in etc. Also the tag that says void warranty on the sct never made it all the way across the area that it is supposed to stick on to. Instead it is laying in the crack between the two halves. I hope this wont mess with me in the future. I really want to plug this thing in. I left doug a message, but since its the weekend, wont here from him till tommorrow. Wondering if I should wait or just go ahead and use it! Also I have the new GMS polished intake, so cant wait to see what else is going to happen with the tune.
Any input on the octane adders etc. Also I noticed it is more than just plug and play, you have to take out some fuses. Can someone point me in the right direction and give me any hints on a first time user for the SCT X2. I cant wait to use his 93 race tune. I have heard so many good things. also what size torx wrench does it take to remove maf sensors. Thanks all for any input, just want to make sure I do it right and not screw up my computer. Thanks

Just from memory I believe the wrench is a 13 but I could be way off.
There have been various post concerning this but removing the fuses is NOT needed.
Better safe than sorry on the octane. Probably best to wait until you have the proper fuel in it, If you have an 89 tune maybe load that first and then when you get the higher octane gas in go for the higher tune.

104 octane (and most others) raise your octane a very, very small amount. The octane boost will not raise it enuff to use the tune. Change tunes when the tank is full of that octane. You do not need to pull fuses. You must make sure your battery is good and fully charged is all. Changing tunes is very fast and easy.

Octane boost will definitely NOT allow you to run the 93 octane tune. I added Outlaw octane boost, which uses the same active ingredient as NOS brand, to 91 octane gas and had horrible ping with the Modular Depot 93 octane tune.
